Date(s) of Stay:

May 30 - June 5, 2001

Accommodation Used:

Standard Room / Studio

Accommodations Review:

The room was very nice, although not any larger then a regular hotel room. We had four adults in our room. The furniture and decor was great, the balcony was wonderful.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We wanted to see the animals and the resort sounded wonderful. We were able to get a special rate on the room and couldn't pass it up.

Room # and Location Description:

#2502 Savannah view, 2 queen size beds. We requested a small fridge for the room ($10 per night).

Room Location Pros & Cons:

It seemed like an ok location. It is one floor beneath the lobby but right next to the elevators. It was a good level for seeing animals from our room, although we were in a corner. Further down our hallway might be a little better for animal viewing.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check-In was great, service was very friendly. Check out was a bit longer as it was somewhat complicated to split our bill.

WDW Transportation Comments:

This was my first trip to WDW but I thought the Transportation was great. We never had to wait more then 15 minutes for a bus, usually only 5 minutes.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Jiko was amazing, we had a fantastic dinner and the dessert (chocolate candies) was one of best things I've every had. Jiko was expensive though, we only at there once. Boma was ok, but a little too exotic for me. Mara was good for fast food, we ate breakfast there almost every morning and bought the "free refill" mugs.

Pool Description / Comments:

I didn't get a chance to swim but the pools look very pretty.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Definitely stay here if you get the chance. It is a beautiful hotel and the fact that you can sit on your balcony and watch the animals is amazing. Be aware the animals are mostly out early in the morning and in the evenings, not during the hottest parts of the day.

Other Comments:

The service was outstanding, everyone was very helpful and friendly. In the animal viewing areas there were staff to answer questions about the animals that you might have. Everyone was very nice. I liked the Zawadi Marketplace too, it had a good selection and was open a lot of hours.
