Accommodations Review:
|
A wonderful room which overlooked the savannah at the end of one
of the 'arms' of the hotel. After a few minutes in the room, we were
able to see six giraffes walking and feeding just a few feet away,
and while we were there, we saw almost all the other animals feeding
or walking by - truly a magical experience! |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
The animals, the architecture. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
#4553, which overlooked one of the smaller areas of the savannah. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
The room was very comfortable, and it was good to have a balcony.
The area was very quiet, and the furnishings were very appropriate.
The room was a long way from the lobby, but that didn't really matter
too much, as it meant that it was very quiet. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
We were greeted in Swahili, which was a nice touch, and the check
in was very well handled. Express checkout was very efficient too. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
Although the Lodge is in a corner of WDW, the transportation was
very good and efficient as usual. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
A good selection of restaurants and budgets. We only ate at Mara,
a self-serve restaurant, as the others were full of tourism conventioneers. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
Very nice pool and surrounding area, with a good bar, and lots of
loungers. It was good to be able to see the animals from the pool
area. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
Just go AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! And don't begrudge the extra rate for
a savannah view room - you won't regret it. |
Other Comments:
|
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is the best hotel at WDW, and is almost
certainly the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Although I haven't
been to Africa, I would say that it is a unique experience for anyone
who is unable to travel to Africa. I look forward to my next visit.
Also for those who are visiting WDW on a budget, just get the bus
to the hotel and spend a few hours there and soak up the atmosphere
without spending $50 on the Animal Kingdom! |
