Accommodations Review:

The room was on the smaller side, but it was adequate. However, mine was a party of only two. I cannot imagine trying to squeeze a family of four comfortably into that small living space. There were two double beds, a nightstand, a small table, dresser, and television. The bathroom was relatively small, with the vanity and sink just outside. The decor fit with the overall music theme, with musical notes and star shaped lights. For only two people who really didn't spend that much time at the hotel anyway, it was a good value. I really enjoyed it - so much so that I'm returning again this November.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

The number one reason I choose one of the All Star Hotels was cost. I really feel they are the best value if your main interest is cruising the theme parks. We really spent very little time at the hotel (mainly only returning at theme park closings to sleep, and leaving fairly early the following days). So, for myself, I just can't see paying the larger costs for one of the "moderate" or "deluxe" hotels. The reason I choose the All Star Music as opposed to the others was I really liked the theme. Chances are you are a fan of at least one of these music genres, and the overall theme of the resort is festive. My only advice is, if your party is larger, to take into consideration that the room was really fairly small.

Room # and Location Description:

I don't remember my exact room number, but it was in the Rock & Roll section. I enjoyed the giant jukeboxes, speakers, and old fashioned cars.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

The Pros of this room were the Rock & Roll section is the third section back from the main pool and lobby. So because we were so far removed, I imagine it was a degree quieter than say the Calypso section, which is right next to the pool and lobby. However, on the flip side of that is the biggest con: there was quite a walk each morning and night from our room to the pool, food court, main lobby, and bus stop. After a long day at a theme park, it was sometimes quite disheartening to think of the long walk we had ahead of us. Also, these resorts offer travel mugs that can be refilled for free during the duration of your stay. However, they have to be refilled at the food court. So every time we wanted to get that free refill, we were in for a little hike. Personally, I don't mind a little noise as compared to the long walk (and the Broadway section is pretty much horizontal with Rock & Roll, so that's the same story). Ideally, I would shot for the Jazz section, which is fairly centrally located. It's far enough back from the pool to lower the noise factor, yet not such a long walk as we had. And, if you can at all help it, stay away from the Country section, which is even further away.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

My only complaints are that with our check-in we did have to wait a while to be waited on. I think they would benefit from a few more staffers at the check-in counter. Of course that could all vary according to day and time. My only other complaint is that we had to lug our suitcases all the way across the resort to our room with no help, and not even a rack to roll them on. But I guess that's one of the drawbacks of a "value" resort.

WDW Transportation Comments:

I have very few complaints with Disney's transportation system. Sometimes there were waits to get home for the parks, but that was usually due to the crowds and not because of a lack of buses arriving to take us back. I remember once at the hotel we waited and waited in line for a bus to the Animal Kingdom and none came, while buses continued to come for the other resorts, which opened later in the day. But still the wait wasn't too long, and it may have been corrected by the new improvements to Disney's bus system. My biggest complaint is that, at park closing, they tried to cram as many people as possible into the buses, so you may or may not have to stand in the aisle, which is needless to say inconvenient. Even to those that are sitting it's a hassle because the unfortunate souls that are standing are forced to clutch whatever they can find to keep from being tossed about, and let's just hope that's not you!

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

There is no full-service restaurant, only a food court, but a very adequate one. From pizza to chicken strips, to breakfast and sweets, if you're hungry, there's something here for you. And, considering where you are, the prices aren't that bad. There is also ample seating.

Pool Description / Comments:

There were two pools. The main pool has a Calypso theme, complete with shooting water spout, and is shaped like a giant guitar. This is, of course, is the more bustling of the two pools. The other is similar to a piano, but while quieter, is much smaller.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Again, if you have a large party, take into consideration that the rooms are considerably smaller than the other WDW hotels, and it could be quite a squeeze. Also, take into account that you could be walking a significant distance to the bus stop, depending on where your room is. Of course, if you have your own car, that won't matter as much. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this resort. I really loved the festive, upbeat atmosphere.

Other Comments:

My advice is, request the Jazz section, whether you like this type of music or not. The location is good, and the New Orleans style rose garden was one of my favorite places in the entire resort
