Rate / Night (for your stay):

$104/night

Date(s) of Stay:

Dec. 20-22, 2000

Accommodation Used:

Standard Room / Studio

Accommodations Review:

The room had two double beds, a table and two chairs. It was not much smaller than our room at the Caribbean Beach Resort in the summer. It was very clean and looked new.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We were unimpressed with our room at the Caribbean Beach Resort and wanted to see the difference for the price.

Room # and Location Description:

Center Court - Way in the back!!!

Room Location Pros & Cons:

We were VERY far away from Stadium Hall, but there was always plenty of parking.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

We did not have to wait very long for check-in, but the process was longer than at the Caribbean Beach Resort.

WDW Transportation Comments:

Request a room near Stadium Hall if you plan to use Disney World transportation. There was only one bus stop which was located at the front of the resort. We drove to the parks every day. You don't have to pay for parking when staying at a resort hotel.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

There was a very large food court with lots of choices. We weren't interested in counter service so we did not eat there. It was not the cleanest place in the world. It was very crowded at breakfast time.

Pool Description / Comments:

We did not even see a pool. There were record low temperatures for the length of our stay. It was 26 degrees the first morning. The temperature never rose above 40 that day. It did warm up a bit, but 50 degrees is still too cold for us native Floridians to take a swim.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

We recommend staying at the All-Star Sports Resort. It's a nice place to stay based on what you pay for the room. We have stayed off-site, too. We definitely do not recommend that. We stayed at a Clarion 5 miles from Disney World on our last night. The cost was only about $70, but it took us an hour to get to our hotel after the Magic Kingdom closed.

Other Comments:

We noted several differences between the Caribbean Beach and All-Star Sports. The price was about $40 less per night at the All-Star. The room was nicer (newer) at the All-Star. The Caribbean has bus stops at every village, and All-Star only has the one at the front. Package delivery from the park is sent to your room at Caribbean and to Stadium Hall at the All-Star. You have to wait in a lon line to pick them up. There is also a swimming pool at every village, but who has time to swim!! Those are some things to consider when deciding whether to stay at a moderate or value resort. Next time we go we still plan to stay at a value resort. We didn't feel that these things were worth the extra money we would have paid.
