Accommodations Review:
|
Overall the accommodations were good. We got assigned to a room
that had that smoke smell. We requested to move to a room was clearly
non-smoking and were quickly accommodated. In fact, it was already
done by the time I went downstairs to the front desk. Our view wasn't
the best, overlooking a rook, but to the side was the pool, and that
was ok. With tow kids, we weren't there for the view that much anyways,
so that was fine. We had requested a full balcony, but turned out
we didn't need it, as we were busy doing other things most of the
time. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
My wife was in town for a convention, so she took us along at very
minimal cost. Instead of staying at her company paid for location.
We thought why not and try and stay at a Resort, and we could pay
anything above what her company wouldn't cover. Worked out great as
we ended up finding that special code, and decided to stay at a Deluxe
resort instead of the previously planned moderate. We hadn't really
planned on doing more than one park, so where we stayed was very important.
Our kids love to swim, so the pool area was a key point. The pool
area shared with the next door yacht Club was perfect. The water slide
was awesome, although laid out awkwardly as to the access of it. They
put sand on the bottom of the pool, as I guess to go with the beach
theme, but it could do without it. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
Room 3679. 3rd floor. The whole floor is non-smoking. A bit of a
walk from the elevators. But the bellman told of us a "secret" shortcut.
Make a quick right turn from our room and there is a stairway that
takes you down to the pool area, and your there. The pool area access
to the boardwalk, restaurants, everything, if we were closer to the
elevators, lobby, our access would have actually been longer. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
As mentioned above, the room location turned out to be perfect.
The only con, far from the elevator, but outweighed by all the pros
of being near a quick hop down the stairs to everything needed. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Checking in and out, was no problem. Seemed to be large convention
contingent staying there, but didn't notice their presence all week. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
Didn't use, but for a quick boat ride across the lake to the Boardwalk.
All a-ok. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
For breakfast ate at Beaches and Cream, a small type place known
for its ice cream in the evening. Saved lots there. Also ate there
late at night every day with the kids. Had to have that late night
ice cream snack. Also by the pool is a place called Hurricane Hannas,
a small little burger place. Fed me and my kids all lunches there,
hot dogs and a burger, fries, for about 15$ per meal. Perfect when
using those refillable cups, (got to get those!!). Only ate the dinner
buffet once at Cape May Cafe. Disappointed that the drinks were not
included in the buffet price. Me and my wife ate at the Yachtsman
Steak House, and enjoyed the food as well as the service and atmosphere.
Nice. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
As described, the pool area was awesome, and we hit it several times
a day during our stay. Huge, and covering actually two pools, we had
a blast. Lifeguards all around was a plus. Plus several hidden areas
make it even better. A small tiny whirlpool effect at one part, a
bubbly geyser type effect in another area gave the kids and myself
for that matter lots of fun. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
This is a great place to stay, as it has lots of to offer. Close
to the Boardwalk, and all that has to do. |

Also available are water rentals and this is a must do. Got the
water mouse boats for the kids. With my son being 12, he was just
old enough to drive his own. All the excitement of that seemed to
take his mind off the fact that these "power boats" were probably
going just slightly faster that Autopia cars, LOL. But it was fun
to see him and my daughter, by themselves, our there on the lake,
driving the boat all over the lake, up to the MGM studios, and back.
Acting all grown up out there on their own. If we ever go back, we
would stay there again. |
