Accommodations Review:
|
Accommodations were actually very nice. Worth $395, I really
wouldn't be too sure, but the room was extremely well laid out
and very spacious. It was a concierge room, though, with all the
added privileges. Actually, it did end up being worth the price
for cost savings on all the snacks we would of purchased in the
parks. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
Location! My primary interest was in Epcot and Disney-MGM, so
this hotel was the perfect place to be. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
Can't remember the room number, but I remember it was on the
fourth floor with a small balcony overlooking Crescent Lake. It
was above Spoodles (I could see people waiting for the pizza window).
It had a great view of the lake. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
The room had nothing but pros. The view was great and it was
not too bad of a hike from the elevators. Unfortunately most of
the concierge rooms at the Boardwalk are pretty far away from
the elevators. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Check-in was an absolute breeze. We arrived on a red-eye flight
and checked in at 8:00am. Others had initially told us that we
would have to wait until official check-in. That was not the case,
our room was ready on the spot. Check-out was equally efficient. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
We avoided most WDW transportation and used a car. Only used
the friendship boats to get to MGM during the day. I thought that
a rental car is a Godsend -- especially with the complementary
valet parking at the Boardwalk. We found that busses were slow
and often late, and that having the car got us to places much
faster. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
We ate both at Flying Fish and Spoodles, which aren't necessarily
Boardwalk Inn restaurants. Both were very good. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
Didn't get a chance to swim, it was a bit too chilly for me. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering
This Resort?
|
I think the Boardwalk Inn is the best located resort in all
of WDW. It has a more intimate scale than the other deluxe resorts
(350+ rooms versus 900+ rooms), and the rooms are spacious and
well decorated. |
Other Comments:
|
For those willing to splurge, the concierge rooms are certainly
worth it. Even if you don't stay in the room very much, having
the concierge available to make reservations is really great.
Also, breakfast is provided, plus all the snacks for mid-day breaks
and evening cordials when you get back from the park. And the
Innkeeper's Club (concierge service room) has a great view of
IllumiNations. You can eat some dessert pastries, sip on an apertif,
and enjoy a view away from the maddening crowds! |
