A great way to stay at Disney. Plenty of room for us and 2 teenage
boys. Full kitchen, so cooking breakfast and keeping fruit, Popsicles
and sandwiches on hand saved quite a lot of money (helped pay for
the room.) We hadn't asked for a particular view, but had a
great one right over the Boardwalk, looking out over the lake. Could
see some of the Epcot fireworks from the balcony. Probably could have
seen more if we had been higher than the 2nd floor. A great way to
enjoy WDW! It truly is a better vacation when you can go back to the
room mid-day. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
We picked the Boardwalk because of the closeness of Epcot (our favorite
park), the 1 bedroom with full kitchen (my husband and myself and
one teen) gave us a kitchen, plenty of room and plenty of privacy
(we even let our son bring a friend), and 'cause we walked around
the Boardwalk a couple of years ago and thought the hotel and it's
amenities looked like a fun place to stay even without the park right
next door. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
We had Room #2049 in the Villas. It was a short walk down from the
elevators and looked right over the Boardwalk and lake. We were the
room above the general store. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
This was a great room! Great view and No, not a bit noisy when you
close the door to the balcony. If I could improve it at all, it would
be to go one floor higher. This balcony had a wall (I'm sure this
is for privacy) and we had to stand up to people watch the Boardwalk.
Up higher there are more picket-fence type of railings that you can
see through while seated. This is a VERY small detail, however, and
certainly would not turn down that room if offered it again. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Check in was quick and easy, they answered all our questions and
were quite helpful. Also, we arrived about 1:30 pm and they got us
into a room right away. Check out was even easier. They sent a copy
of the bill to the room and if we had no concerns or changes (we didn't)
we didn't even have to stop at the desk. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
Walked to Epcot (or boat - what fun!), used own car for all else.
Teenagers used monorail and bus. The boys had a poor experience on
bus (it was mis-marked, so they ended up in the wrong place, took
2 hours to get back to BW), but WDW made up for it by picking them
up with a limo from E-night. How nice! |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
Didn't try any but Atlantic Dance. Fun to watch the "swing
dancers", but almost intimidating for us to try. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
Boys loved the large pool, we enjoyed the "quiet pool"
which was NEVER crowded - we were often the only ones in it. Quiet
pools open all night, great if you're a night owl. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
I would recommend this resort to anyone, particularly traveling
with teens. There was plenty for them to do, even late at night, and
plenty of relaxing for us. For those thinking the cost is a stretch,
the kitchen truly does help save money on meals and snacks. |

I had mentioned that it was our anniversary when we made dinner
reservations for Rose & Crown. The Boardwalk brought us a cake!!
Too cool. |
