Boardwalk Villas Resort

Rate / Night (for your stay):

We used DVC points.

Date(s) of Stay:

June 2000

Accommodation Used:

One Bedroom Vacation Home / Condo

Accommodations Review:

The first thing you notice is the discrepancy in size compared to the villas at Old Key West, which are much bigger. It still serves the purpose of having a kitchen and living room.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

Location-location-location! You cannot beat the ambience all around you, from the closeness of Epcot, to the best restaurants, to the fun of the Boardwalk and finally: a great walking tour around past Beach and Yacht and up to Dolphin & Swan. These other hotels have fantastic eateries & lounges, which should be checked out.

Room # and Location Description:

The cast member checking us in worked for 20 minutes (no lie) to get us the best possible room: a view of Epcot's Illuminations, which indeed he did. We had 5th floor in "Crest of the Wave" right next to Jelly Rolls. The view was unbelievable, if that is important to you, as it is to me.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

If you don't mind being seen up on your balcony, the location is fantastic. I would be sitting out there at 6 AM watching cast members sprucing up the boardwalk, watering/washing; smells from the bakery wafting up; the boat horns sounding--talk about being right in the middle of the magic!!

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

The cast members in the lobby were all wonderful and helpful.

WDW Transportation Comments:

The bus service here was noticeably slow and should not be, considering the price you are paying to stay there.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

I found my all-time favorite Disney restaurant at the Flying Fish. Other favorites are Spoodles and Palio at the Swan.

Pool Description / Comments:

We elected to go to the quiet pool for our swim, after enjoying a drink at the cute Leaping Horse Libations bar.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Decide if it's worth spending the extra $$ for an Epcot-view room. Otherwise, the views elsewhere are more quiet and private.

Other Comments:

I do prefer the Old Key West villas, for villa space and overall relaxation.
