Accommodations Review:
|
The rooms were the perfect size for our family of 4. Our room seemed
in good shape with no noticeable problems. However my mom's room (which
was supposedly an adjoining room however there was no door between
the two rooms) reeked of cigarette smoke even though we were in the
non-smoking section. It still smelled pretty bad on the day we left,
but we never complained about it. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
We originally had reservations at Port Orleans, but after looking
at pictures of the grounds at both locations Caribbean Beach looked
nicer. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
I don't remember the exact room #, but we were in building 23 of
the Martinique section on the second floor. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
I think we were one of the farthest buildings in Martinique from
the food court and main pool which meant quite a hike especially for
my pregnant body and our 2 year old rarely walked the whole way. We
did have the stroller, but because of us being on the second floor
it was too much of a hassle to use it on the grounds. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Check in was okay. The person who checked us in wasn't a regular
cast member (she typically worked at the All Stars) so she had no
clue about some of our questions and gave us some wrong information
(mostly about little things though so it wasn't a big deal). Check
out was really simple with express check out. And we didn't have a
problem with my mom checking out on time and us having a late check
out. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
We ended up renting a car and so never ended up using it. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
We ate at Old Port Royale most mornings for breakfast. We ate the
waffles, pancakes, & French toast and all were fairly good. We
also had a late afternoon snack there on our first night and had the
pizza, tuna, and a salad and all were pretty good. My mom and her
husband ate at Captain's Tavern one night with the kids. My mom said
the spaghetti sauce tasted like it came out of a can, but they both
really liked her husband's fish. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
We didn't have enough time to really enjoy the pool, but my husband
took the kids down to the main pool on our first night and then right
before check out and they both had a blast. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
This resort is really nice, but I'd maybe stay somewhere else if
you weren't planning on using the facilities. This resort is pretty
big and things were marked very well. On more than one occasion we
walked the wrong direction and we never did make it to Parrot Cay
because I couldn't figure out where it was and we didn't have tons
of time to explore all the grounds. |
