Caribbean Beach Resort

Rate / Night (for your stay):

I think it was something like $120 a night, but not totally sure!

Date(s) of Stay:

June 11, 2000-June 16, 2000

Accommodation Used:

Standard Room / Studio

Accommodations Review:

The resort was mediocre. At night it seemed cleaner and a lot prettier. The rooms were clean...the walls were thin, we could hear the people in the next room the whole time! Also any time the cleaning people walked by they would make a lot of noise which we would hear in the room.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

It seemed really pretty in the pictures and we couldn't afford to stay at a deluxe resort. I'd already stayed at Dixie Landings, so this was my next choice of places to stay.

Room # and Location Description:

Jamaica, but I can't remember the room number. It was on the second floor on a corner.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Very close to the bus stop. Also during our stay Jamaica was the first stop for buses both coming to get us and letting us off at night. Not too far from the food court/pool (a little jaunt across the island). Pretty good location overall.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check in was lame...our cast member was very rude. We asked if she was having a bad day and she responded with a really short NO! Check out was okay, nothing I remember too much about.

WDW Transportation Comments:

Excellent! I love the WDW bus system, the bus drivers are (more times than not) wonderful! Usually they will make little jokes or tell interesting trivia. They are a wealth of information and love to help people! This is the best way to get around!

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Enjoyed the food court. I thought the selection was pretty broad. The pizza there was really yummy!! Also I liked their key lime pie and brownies! If anyone stays here (or anywhere on Disney property) I recommend buying a refillable mug...we filled it up at lunch during our midday break and at night when we came back to wind down!

Pool Description / Comments:

Very pretty at night, although it was crowded. The waterfall was nice, but smaller than what I expected. The slide looked fun for kids, but kind of lame for adult. It was a nice pool, nothing too spectacular. I did REALLY like the calypso music they played on the sidelines!

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

I felt like this resort was looking pretty run down. It needed a LOT of maintenance and the outside needed to be cleaned. The cast members there were overall not very polite and we had a few bad experiences (I lost my room key and it took over 2 hours to get a new one...during these 2 hours we waited outside our room waiting for the man to bring us our key, since the office said he'd be there within a few minutes... hmmmm). If you are not planning to be at the resort much, except at night maybe, it's not a bad place to stay, but I would pick a newer resort for the next time I go.
