Rate / Night (for your stay):

$140/night

Date(s) of Stay:

5/26-6/1/01

Accommodation Used:

Standard Room / Studio

Accommodations Review:

Nicely decorated. Ours had been recently refurbished - new beds and mattresses, new curtains, etc. Also had been freshly painted, and faintly smelled of it! The rooms are fairly small, but since we spent most of our time at the parks or the pool, we didn't mind.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

Suggestion of friends.

Room # and Location Description:

Jamaica #4211 - near the pool. Jamaica village is very festive, buildings painted blue and yellow, lots of plants.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

It was fine for us - close to the village pool, not too far from Old Port Royale's food court and shops.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Quick and easy

WDW Transportation Comments:

The buses ran pretty well; however, those going to the Magic Kingdom seemed to take longer to arrive than the promised "every 20 minutes."

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Only went to Old Port Royale once - the food was decent but there were so many people there, it was chaos!

Pool Description / Comments:

The Jamaica pool was nice - we never ventured over to the bigger Port Royale pool (kind of a hassle with two little kids), and our pool was never that crowded.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

If you have small children, ask to stay in Jamaica, since the buses usually pick you up first and drop you off first - a plus with tired, whiny kids! We also spent the $10/day to rent a small refrigerator, which we found helpful; it was nice to always have cold drinks for us and the kids, and not have to depend on walking over to the food court to get snacks and sodas. Also - bring your own beach towels!! Otherwise, you have to use the small bath-sized ones from the room.

Other Comments:

We would definitely stay here again.
