Accommodations Review:

The rooms were terrible. I have stayed at other Disney Resorts and this is the first time I was flat out disappointed. The rooms were in desperate need of refurbishment. Tired and old is ok, but the thing that upset me the most was how dirty the room was. I called housekeeping when we first arrived because the bathroom did not even look like it had been cleaned up from the last guests. I plan to definitely return to Disney in the future, but will NEVER stay at this resort again.

It also lacked the Disney Magic that I have become accustomed to in the past. We were traveling with my brother and his family and this was their first trip to Disney. It was embarrassing because my family had boasted about the exceptional quality of the resorts. NOT in this case. This was my daughter's 2nd trip and the first time we took her we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and the staff treated her like a princess. I was hoping for the same treatment for my niece and nephew and found that the staff was very casual and uninterested in our being there or anyone else for that matter. In hind sight, I really should have been more vocal about my disappointment when we were there. I don't know if they would have done anything, but I would have at least felt better that I said something.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We were traveling as a larger group than normal. We were trying to be a bit more budget conscious. We were not planning a trip in 2000, but we wanted to see the millennium celebration, so we decided to stay at a moderate resort for a quick trip.

Room # and Location Description:

Trinidad South

Room Location Pros & Cons:

I did not feel I was staying at a "resort". I never went to Port Royal and could not even tell you were it was located. It was very inconvenient and it seemed to take a long time to get anywhere. Also the room was a walk even to get to the bus stop. I think in this size of a resort it would be better to have "mini" Port Royals in various locations so the people that were staying in the back of the resort could enjoy the amenities of the resort.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check in was uneventful. We had to wait in line to check-in and also be escorted to our rooms. Check-out was a little more inconvenient. We had to wait for our shuttle and there seemed to be some confusion as to who was actually taking us to the airport.

WDW Transportation Comments:

I've had to use Disney's bus service before and have had no complaints, but since this is such a large resort it seemed that the buses were full quicker and we had to wait for longer periods of time.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Did not utilize them.

Pool Description / Comments:

Did not utilize them.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

I would say... Stay somewhere else.

Other Comments:

Disney World is a great vacation, but for a lot of families this is a once in a lifetime dream vacation. I think Disney needs to take that into consideration when trying to cater to these families. Maybe the hotel staff needs to take some lessons from the Disney Cast members in the theme parks.
