Accommodations Review:

They were nothing spectacular. The walls were paper-thin (more noticeable
than at other WDW resorts I've stayed at), the room was small and
dark. There just wasn't much of the Disney "sparkle" that I am used
to. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
We wanted to try somewhere new and we were on a budget. I wish I'd
stayed at the Coronado again! |

Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
It was awful. We weren't near anything. Even the bus stop, which
I had requested MONTHS in advance that we were near, we had to walk
the equivalent of two blocks. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Check in was awful. I arrived at 12:30 at night, and there were
only 2 people in line ahead of me. It took 1/2 an hour to get through
the line. My boyfriend had checked in earlier and didn't have a credit
card, so he had declined room charging. I wanted to add it on. They
issued two new keys with room charging privileges. When I got to bellhop
and looked at the keys again, guess what? No room charging privileges.
Back to the line to get 2 new keys. Finally, I went outside, hauling
all my luggage, to wait for the room escort. There was no bus service
at this time, or I wouldn't have waited. There were approximately
25 people waiting. A van pulled up, the driver looked at our crowd
completely shocked, and immediately got on the radio and told them
to send a huge van... apparently, there was no communication between
the front desk and bell services about how many people were checking
in, so they weren't ready for us! After 1/2 an hour, another van showed.
There was one family in front of me. The driver asked who was next,
and I didn't want to be impolite, so I pointed to them. They squished
into the back of the van. The driver then took off- with only the
one family, and a huge van! Another 1/2 an hour and I was finally
put into the van with the first driver- who dropped me at the curb
and didn't offer any assistance with locating my room or carrying
my luggage! When I got up to the room, my key didn't work- so I had
to wake my boyfriend to let me in! I called the front desk- they told
me I'd have to come back down (its not a short walk- we tried it the
next day and it took over an hour)- I asked if they couldn't just
have someone bring a key and slip it under the door that night- if
they were coming that way anyhow. She said, "Well, how did you get
in your room, then?" Uggh... the key never did work on the room the
entire time we were there, but my boyfriend's did, so we just stayed
together... |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
It was ok. Transportation at Coronado was much better. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
The food court was ok. They gave you way too much food, though.
Not enough variety. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
No comment- it was waaay too cold to swim. The pool just looked
like a normal hotel pool. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
Stay at the Coronado instead. This one is so un-Disney for a WDW
property. You'll feel like you're staying off-site. |
Other Comments:
|
The staff was ok - with the exception of the lady snidely asking
me how I got in my room. I mean, that's not how you want a guest to
start off their vacation! Other than that, we didn't find the staff
to do anything beyond that which you would expect at an off-site hotel.
It was very un-Disney here and left me wishing I would have chosen
to stay elsewhere. |
