Rate / Night (for your stay):

$109 (got a promotional postcard in the mail!)

Date(s) of Stay:

3/7-3/14/01

Accommodation Used:

Standard Room / Studio

Accommodations Review:

The room was great, everything was in good condition. New looking Sony TV (flat-ish screen) in the room that had a/v inputs (could hook up a camcorder and watch the day's tapes).

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We received a postcard for a discounted rate.

Room # and Location Description:

Trinidad South, #3926... the last building in the furthest area. View of some water and construction at Disney's Pop Country resort.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

All cons.  Trinidad is in the Boondocks. We took our rental car to the kiddy pool (kids aged 3 and 2) at Port Royale. We took the kids for walks in the strollers to Port Royale a few times.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Quick and effortless, A+

WDW Transportation Comments:

Good location for short bus trips to the 4 parks. Buses every 20 minutes. We took the bus a few times, but usually drove.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Port Royale restaurants at the food court were pretty bland. The pizza was actually pretty good.

Pool Description / Comments:

There was a pool in Trinidad South, but we normally went to the kiddie pool at Port Royale.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Most of the areas are too far away from the action. I'm glad I had a rental car there (parking at the parks is free for on-site resort guests too). Without it a quick run up to Port Royale and back to get an evening snack would take 1/2 hour.

Other Comments:

For $109/night it was worth it (I'm sure that's why we were located so far out). The first few days we were there the place was pretty abandoned. Rented a refrigerator (that I could've bought for $80) for $10.60 a night. It was worth the convenience with the kids though. We could watch the Epcot fireworks (and see part of the Epcot ball) from the Promenade by our room.
