Not sure; it was part of a package.

Date(s) of Stay:

Aug 20-25, 2001

Accommodation Used:

Standard Room / Studio

Accommodations Review:

Very nice, newly remodeled room. It was a "Garden View" upgrade and gave a great view of the Epcot fireworks each night.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

It was moderately priced and seemed to be centrally located within the Disney property.

Room # and Location Description:

Trinidad South #3824. I was disappointed at first when I heard we would be in Trinidad South because of the somewhat negative reviews on this website, but was pleasantly surprised. Since it was recently refurbished, the room was very clean and bright.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

It was a little far from the main pool and food court, but we rented a car so this really was not a problem. It was extremely quiet in the area and the Trinidad South pool was just fine; never very crowded and open 24 hours (unlike the main pool or those at any of the other villages).

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check-in: around 4:30pm was fairly crowded, but the CM we had was wonderful (his name was Milan and he was the most entertaining person we met there!) Check-out: we needed to leave before the 8:30am Express check-out time, so we requested a final bill the night before we left. This worked out well, since we were careful not to add any other charges to the room.

WDW Transportation Comments:

We rented a car (highly recommended!) so we didn't use the buses this time. In the past, we found the busses tolerable, but with a 4-year-old and stroller, a car was much easier, faster and more comfortable. Another hint: use the ferry between the Magic Kingdom and Transportation Center; it was way faster and less crowded.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We ate frequently (breakfast/dinners) at the food court. The food was okay; definitely not gourmet, but pretty good for food court cuisine. The breakfast at the pizza place was the best buy.

Pool Description / Comments:

The main pool was very small and always crowded, so we used the pool closest to our room. While the main pool provided towels, we had to request extra towels from housekeeping to use at the closer pool, but this really wasn't a problem.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Rent a car so that it really won't matter where your room is located. You will be glad when it is pouring rain and you won't have to stand in line with lots of other people to stand on a crowded bus while it makes numerous stops at other places before you get to the Parks.

Other Comments:

Tip the housekeepers well, they really added a nice touch to my daughter's stay. At the end of each day, we found her stuffed animals had been carefully placed as if they were having fun while we were gone. One day we even found a note from them. Our daughter really got a kick out of this! Everyone there went out of their way to make it an enjoyable trip. Check out the pin-trading. It's a ton of fun, but can become expensive if you aren't careful!
