Caribbean Beach Resort

Rate / Night (for your stay):

Part of package from UK, rate per night unknown

Date(s) of Stay:

24 Sept - 8 Oct 2000

Accommodation Used:

Standard Room / Studio

Accommodations Review:

Room seemed very large with two double beds (our first USA stay - we're used to poky UK rooms with 1 bed). Having two sinks outside the bathroom was useful. The Caribbean decoration was very nice - bright without being over the top. The room was a bit dark at times with palms and vegetation outside blocking the light. The plus side of this was that it was secluded.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

Liked the Caribbean theme idea and the location was close to the parks we thought we'd prefer. We also preferred the idea of lots of smaller buildings dotted about rather than one huge one.

Room # and Location Description:

Aruba Room 5614

Room Location Pros & Cons:

We had a garden view. It was the other side of the lake to the main area but the walk across the island in the middle was quite an enjoyable start to the day.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

No problems here. We didn't have any queues on arrival and found the express check out very convenient.

WDW Transportation Comments:

The bus service was very good. We didn't have long to wait and the drivers were quite entertaining on the short trips to the parks, providing little tidbits of Disney knowledge. We also had a hire car which was useful for going off site.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We found the food court very good with a range of options. The layout was very imaginative with it made up as a street inside. We both loved the French toast for breakfast and had the occasional dinner there when we wanted something convenient and easy.

Pool Description / Comments:

The main pool looked quite fun but we ended up being too busy to use it. There was one of the quiet pools close to us which you could have almost to yourself.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

I would definitely recommend it. It is quite a large resort but there are bus stops all around it so you can use the internal bus if you don't feel like walking to the food/shop area. Even though it is large it doesn't feel like there are loads of people there.

Other Comments:

We stayed here for our Wedding-Moon and the staff were brilliant. Housekeeping did special 'Disney-style' romantic touches in our room each day, we also got a congratulations basket of goodies and card from reception. The Disney people in general were very well organized and very helpful. The rest of our party stayed outside of Disney and all said our room was much nicer than the ones they had.
