Standard Room / Studio

Accommodations Review:

We had a lovely time at the Contemporary and I would recommend it to anyone to stay there at least once.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

Closest hotel to the Magic Kingdom

Room # and Location Description:

We were in building 7 on the 2nd floor across from the laundry room. There were 2 queen beds, a table, sofa, and chair. Our room overlooked part of the lake (to our left) and part of the courtyard (to our right).

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Pro: Great view of the courtyard and water Con: Long walk to the monorail and food court

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check-in and check-out were very quick and easy

WDW Transportation Comments:

Taking the monorail back to the hotel in the evening was great (the Contemporary is the first stop). However, we found it was easier to walk to the Magic Kingdom rather than take the monorail because it was faster (the Magic Kingdom is the last stop from the Contemporary).

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We ate breakfast and a few other "quick" items at the food court. There are not many tables to sit at, so we would usually just take our food to go. The food court is also VERY LOUD, it is located right next to the arcade. But the prices were not bad and the staff there was always very friendly.

Pool Description / Comments:

Unfortunately, the main pool was closed for repairs while we were there ( we were very disappointed!!) However, the smaller pool was nice and there were 2 lifeguards watching constantly. My only complaint would be that there were not enough chairs and tables for everyone to sit at.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

If you are looking for convenience and are traveling with small children or someone who is elderly, I would highly recommend this resort because of its proximity to the Magic Kingdom. The rooms were clean and roomy and the hotel staff is very friendly. However, if you are looking for a more affordable Disney resort, I would recommend one of the moderate or value resorts.
