Accommodations Review:

Small pre-fab house. Slept family of 4 (2 kids under 8) snugly.
Disney claims this house will sleep six. Sleep maybe, but don't expect
room to live. Generally, kid friendly (being able to put kids to bed
in separate bedroom is a big plus), but house would not pass kid safely
inspection. For example, Disney provides kitchen utensils, but puts
sharp knives in lower drawer. Although we expected a wilderness setting,
there were too many loose nails and exposed edges in the house for
comfort. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
Offered upgrade from moderate resort. Offered separate bedroom and
full kitchen to make our own meals. More space than single room. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
Cabin 2766. Near small pool, laundry, and bus stop. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
As good as any other; maybe better than others. However, Fort Wilderness
is so large that there is no one location close to everything. You've
got to prioritize. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Friendly, but very confused. We had to talk with two supervisors
over two days just to get checked in properly. We were given contradictory
information on more than matter about our bill. Also, we were given
no resort info or maps. Requests were ignored or botched. Very un-Disney. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
Buses were fine, although the routes (and route names) were changed
during our stay with little mention. Fort Wilderness lodging just
about requires a car. Launch to MK does not run early and is very
crowded. Driving signage is incomplete, however its still better than
relying on buses when taking a stroller, diaper bag, etc. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
Hoop Dee Doo Revue was fun. Did not use other facilities. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
Basic and generally uncrowded. Walking access to River Country. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
If you need a kitchen and separate bedroom it's worth considering.
Although we got the additional privacy for baby naps, we missed the
constant available activities of a regular resort. |
Other Comments:
|
Fort Wilderness is definitely designed and operated for more independent
individuals. If you want more support and action, go elsewhere. |
