We stayed in a Fort Wilderness Home. This was the most awesome place
on Disney Property for our family! I cannot recommend it enough! It
was perfect! There is a great kitchen with full dishwasher, stove,
oven, microwave, full sized refrigerator, toaster, coffeemaker, all
the dishes, cookware, etc. They also have maid service! The living
room is cute, with a couch, and two rustic chairs, TV, and radio.
Lots of drawer space under the TV too! It also had a comfy Murphy
bed that pulls down out of the wall that has a lit alcove behind it
for night reading. Decent sized closet with shelf rack and three drawers
beneath it. The bathroom was really nice, it had counter space and
drawers and cabinets galore! Very well maintained as well. You get
soap and shampoo, not that yucky soap dispenser like some of the other
hotels are offering! The bedroom offers a full sized double bed and
bunk beds, large two door closet and vanity area with sink and cabinets.
This was so nice! We are staying again for 11 days in January 2002!
The entire Wilderness Campground Resort was tip top from beginning
to end. The pool was heated and very, very nice. Lots of chairs and
trees. The laundry was clean but TOO air conditioned!!! We didn't
use the busing system but I'm sure it was easy as there were plenty
of very well marked stops. We also had a cute little driveway (they
only allow one car...if you are coming with more than one vehicle
you have to park in the main lot by check in) and we had a picnic
table and barbecue! |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
We picked it for the kitchen and space. We had three adults, one
child and a guide dog. We needed a place to rest that gave us space
away from each other, as well as an equipped kitchen for me! |
Room # and Location Description:
|
I believe we were in Home 822?? I don' remember honestly. But I
will choose that location again if possible! (Editor's Note:
Wendy probably stayed in the 2800 loop.) |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
The pros! Far away from everything (enough for privacy!). A quick
five minute walk to the pool! The Cons-Not very close to the gift
shops and restaurants. This was not a con for us because we basically
shopped in the parks! We also used the kitchen and did not need gift
shop except for more milk. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
We checked in at 11:30 am and our Home was ready! No wait at all.
Very quiet and calming. NO NOISE and NO loud little ones! Check out
was quick and painless (except that we had to leave!) |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
We did not use the transportation but saw clearly marked bus stops
and buses going by at very close intervals. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Didn't use |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
Very clean, large, private and WARM! No slides or anything, no lifeguards,
but very nice. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
I would suggest that you bring you bikes, make time for the pools,
do a little cooking and barbecuing and take advantage of the pony
rides, petting zoo, campfire sing along and nightly movies! |
