Accommodations Review:

The room was a king-sized bed room, quite large and comfortable.
The dual sinks were a nice touch, but the shower/toilet area was a
bit small. Nice overall themeing though. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
We had narrowed it down to the Polynesian, Dixie Landings, and the
Port Orleans. We decided to save a little money by booking a moderate
resort, and then it was just a blind choice. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
Building 1. (I can't remember the room number, but it was the furthest
room from the resort entrance) |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
Pros - Right on the water, quiet, great view of the trees, water
fowl, and boats going by.
Cons - a long walk after a full day of disney-ing. Also, sometimes
the wait for a boat to go down to Disney Downtown or Dixie Landings
was long...feed the ducks to pass time.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Also, the mural behind the
check-in desk is gorgeous. I would have loved to take a picture of
it! |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
The buses were always timely with pick-ups at the resorts. Pick-ups
at the parks were more arduous simply due to the masses of people
waiting. (if possible, don't wait until the park closes before heading
to the bus pick-ups) |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
The refillable cups are a great bargain, and a fun souvenir. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
Not used by us, but it looked like a lot of fun for kids and families. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
If walking doesn't sound great after a long day at the parks, perhaps
request a building closer to the bus terminal. Be sure to take a boat
down to Disney Downtown, it's a nice change of pace. |
Other Comments:
|
I was very torn on whether to book the Port Orleans or Dixie Landings.
One night we boated down to Dixie Landings to see it and try their
restaurant. It was nice, and again, a change of pace. Both are nicely
themed resorts. I would love to stay at either again. |
