|
The hotel is clean and quiet with charming New Orleans theming. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
Price, theme, pool and recommendations from MousePlanet. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
On the third floor, Bldg 5, but I cannot remember the number. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
Excellent location -- close to pool, food court, laundry and ice
machine, but not so close as to increase noise levels. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Check-in could have been faster, since we were the only ones in
line. The CM was new and had to keep asking her supervisor questions.
She did have my fax on hand, so most of my room requests were granted.
I had been told I could buy my annual pass voucher at my hotel, but
that was not the case. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
Buses were excellent! Usually had to run because buses were already
waiting at stops. Ran very frequently from the hotel, and from the
parks, except after Illuminations at Epcot. That was grueling, waiting
with 100s of people and exhausted, crying kids. Even though the French
Quarter buses made stops at Riverside, it did not add much time to
the ride. In fact, on surprise mornings, the bus skipped Riverside
stops entirely and took us directly to the Magic Kingdom at 7:30 a.m.
There were many wheelchair-bound travelers and this added as much
as 15 minutes to the bus trip, depending on the experience of the
driver. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
The Food Court was clean, convenient and well-stocked, that is the
most I can say about it. We used it mostly for breakfast, even though
the food tasted liked microwaved Aunt Jemima products. The beignets
were different every time we ordered them...not a good thing. Their
glazed donuts were uniformly good. One lunch-time we had the cheeseburgers
and the meat tasted skunky. However, their individual pizzas were
pretty good -- my son loved them. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
Pool was beautiful, with a great slide, but always crowded. Lifeguards
were on full alert but did not uniformly discipline the trouble-makers.
My autistic son was screamed at by a lifeguard because she said he
was "ignoring her" when she corrected his behavior. Unlike the CMs
at the parks, the lifeguards seemed to have very little knowledge
of special needs children. My son did not know she was talking to
him, so for the rest of the visit we had to keep him within arms'
reach. One day the pool was closed for 24 hours due to a pump failure.
Many unhappy guests. Why it took so long to fix, no one knew. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
Don't count on eating all or most of your meals at the food court.
Their bakery is fine for breakfast but otherwise, eat before you leave
the parks. |
Other Comments:
|
We never did get a chance to take the boat to either Downtown Disney
or Riverside, but might if we had more time. |
