Accommodations Review:

Our thought the room was fine for three adults and one child. Our hostess left a monkey made out of towels, which my son loved.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We liked the smaller size of the resort and had read that the buses picked up and dropped off at French Quarter before Riverside.

Room # and Location Description:

Building 5, Room 5117

Room Location Pros & Cons:

The room we had directly faced the river. It was a beautiful view, especially in the mornings when the sun rose (and we were up to see pretty much every sun rise!). The pool was very close. It was a short walk to the food court and buses, but not to where it was uncomfortable.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

I had reserved two rooms in my name - one for my sister, who was coming in from Atlanta, and one for myself. In hindsight, I should have gotten two reservation numbers. When we arrived, I tried to check in but was told I would have to pay for both rooms, or wait until my sister arrived to split the reservation. After waiting for about an hour for my sister to arrive, we stood in line again to check in. The process took close to 30 minutes and the girl that was helping us did not seem to know what she was doing. As it turns out she didn't! Ultimately, I was charged for both rooms. The morning before we left, I went and requested a print out and could see that the statement was wrong. He said he would look into the problem and that I should come back later. Right before we were scheduled to leave, I went to the front desk again and was told that it took them three hours to figure out our statement. I still haven't gotten my credit card bill yet, so I guess when that arrives, I'll see if they ever got it right! Otherwise, they were very friendly and helpful.

WDW Transportation Comments:

We used the WDW transportation during our entire stay. I thought sometimes you had to wait quite a while for the buses and a lot of times it was standing room only. Another thing that irritated me was that when returning from the parks, the waiting line for Port Orleans ALWAYS seemed to be the farthest away of all the resorts. Even the All Star resorts were situated before PO. Maybe next time we'll rent a car and try using a car instead to compare.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Didn't try any of the lounges, so I can't comment. The food at the food court was very good. The breakfast sandwiches in the morning were delicious and quite a big serving. We had the beignets several mornings and thought they were very good also.

Pool Description / Comments:

My 4 year old son loved the pool. He wore himself out on the slide on several occasions! I must say, the life guards take their jobs very seriously.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

If you don't mind a little bit of a walk, request a room facing the river. Several days we brought our chairs out in front of the room just to sit and enjoy the view. People probably thought we were crazy! I sent in a fax request three days before our arrival and got all of my requests granted. And we didn't have to pay extra for a water view room.

Other Comments:

We absolutely loved this resort. It was beautiful and spotless. I didn't realize how much so until I got back home! I hope to return to Port Orleans French Quarter one day (soon!).
