Accommodations Review:

The room was lovely, in excellent condition. There was adequate room for 2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 pre-teen and a baby. We requested a crib, which I was told would be full-size (by CRO reservations & hotel staff) so I brought regular crib sheets, but it turned out to be the smaller porta-crib size. Housekeeping provided a regular bed sheet for the crib. We called for 4 extra pillows and they were promptly brought to our room. Our 7 dwarf beanies were displayed in our window by the housekeeper, but no cute wash cloth displays. We requested late check-out (1PM) and got it.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

Port Orleans French Quarter was the only moderate we hadn't stayed in yet.

Room # and Location Description:

5104 building 5 - the room faced the hot tub area and laundry building This was a standard view room and it faced beautiful gardens (there was a slight stinky smell at times - from the shrubs?).

Room Location Pros & Cons:

I requested a room close to the central area when I made my reservation and the room was perfectly located; very close to food court, pool, bus stop and parking lot. We still needed a stroller to get around with the baby, but this was a perfect location for us and added greatly to our enjoyment.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check-in was amazingly fast. No line at 3pm the day after Easter, and the cm asked if we had stayed at WDW before and when I said yes, she just handed me the room keys and paperwork and didn't have another comment except 'enjoy your stay'! I was surprised! She did forget to give me a parking pass, which I went back for later, no line again. No offer for Bell Services to help with the bags, so we parked the car and carried our bags to the room ourselves. It was easy with rolling bags. We used Express Check-out.

WDW Transportation Comments:

We used the buses to go to the parks, and the buses were crowded, and PO does have the last stop at all the theme parks, but we prefer the buses to get to the parks. Interestingly, only women offered to give up their seats on the bus so I could sit with the 16 month old baby. The water parks were closed to resort guests almost every afternoon but the bus drivers didn't seem to be aware of this - they didn't warn people and only checked when asked. We had one really entertaining driver and the rest were ok. We use the rental car to go to other resorts for dinner rather than do bus transfers. Considering the busy holiday season, the WDW Transportation was great.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

The food court was ok but not anywhere as good as the All-Stars or other moderates. Staffing wasn't really adequate, there were always long lines. All of our breakfast meals and most lunches were at the food court. Having to stand in line for 20 minutes for a container of milk in the evening was a little annoying. We had one burger lunch at the Riverside food court which was excellent!

Pool Description / Comments:

Everyone enjoyed the pool. There are relaxing areas and the landscaping is beautiful. On 4/16 and 4/17 there weren't any chairs or tables available when we arrived at the pool in the afternoon. This bothered me for a few minutes, but I knew it was going to be busy. We laid our towels on the concrete and after an hour or so a table freed up. The rest of the time getting a spot wasn't a problem.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Go for it! This is a beautiful resort with lots of lovely details.

Other Comments:

We rented bikes at Riverside, and wanted to use the pool there, but never made it. I prefer the slide at the Riverside pool but the kids were happy with the one at French Quarter. Its nice that you can use both pools if you want. We enjoyed the boat ride to Down Town Disney. We would stay here again.
