The room was everything we expected. It was a good size and
clean. I loved the decor and the furniture. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
For a month my friend and I did research on all the resorts,
listing their pros and cons. We finally narrowed it down to
the Wilderness Lodge and the Port Orleans. PO won because of
it's location and the better rates. If we could have afforded
it we would have stayed at the Grand Floridian, or the Yacht
Club. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
6320, 6321 and 6323 in bldg 6 with a "Bunny Garden" view on
the third floor.. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
All pros, no cons. It was close to the bus stop, close to
the food court, and close to the river. No noise problems. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
No line at 6:00pm. The same CM checked us all in, even though
we all arrived separately hours apart. She was very helpful
and friendly and it went very smoothly. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
We took the bus 90% of the time (cabbed it 9%), and except
for the fact that the PO stops at the parks are a county away
from the main entrances, it worked just fine. Took the boat
3 times to Downtown Disney. Nice if you have the time, but not
if you are trying to get to the West End quickly. You'll end
up taking a bus from the Marketplace to the West End anyway. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
Ate at the Sassagoula Float Works Food Court at least once
a day. Mostly for the beignets in the morning. $2.00 for 3 big
ones! See my review elsewhere on this site. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
We swam in the pool twice. Once during the day when it was
crowded and the water was a little warm, and once late at night
with only 50 or so people around. It's nice. The slide looked
cool but wasn't much fun for adults :) The spa was always full,
mostly with families with their children, so we skipped that. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering
This Resort?
|
Don't ever stay at this resort. I want it all to myself the
next time I go to Florida :-) But seriously folks, the best
time to enjoy this resort is early morning. Grab a cup of coffee
and some beignets, take them and sit at an outside table. Feed
the birds and chase the bunnies. |
Other Comments:
|
This place was great and I unless I strike it rich and can
stay at the Grand Floridian again, I'll be back. |
