Accommodations Review:

We ended up in Alligator Bayou-Bldg. 14 and it was super--uniquely decorated and clean. (I had requested AB 14 or 15 or Magnolia Terrace.) We were first assigned to Parterre Place 9611 and I hated it! It was dark, far from food or busses and faced pavement driveway. After first night I asked if we could relocate and "Carol" at front desk took care of us. Maid was wonderful and appreciative of tip--even wrote thank you note!

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

After reading MousePlanet reviews and doing other research on various resorts, this seemed like the best value. I was looking in the moderate range and liked the ambiance Port Orleans-Riverside appeared to have. Location was basically central to all parks.

Room # and Location Description:

Alligator Bayou 1437--upstairs/corner room

Room Location Pros & Cons:

This room was perfect for us! The walk was short to bus stop or food court; short walk just over the bridge to Ol' Man Island Pool. I liked corner room with two windows. (This building is also close to parking lot if you have a car.)

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

We checked-in at 2:00 a.m. so encountered no crowds. Check-out at 4:00 p.m. was also quick.

WDW Transportation Comments:

We relied on WDW transportation and were pleased. Had 20 min. waits the few times we just missed the bus, but still was easier than driving, parking and catching trams to gates. We even visited 4 parks on one day via the busses! Afternoon busses were crowded, but got us where we wanted to go.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Frequently used Colonel's Cotton Mill Food Court and were happy with prices and quality. Get the refillable mugs! Morning coffee was terrific! Didn't go to Boatwright's. Passed by lounge in evening and piano player really had the crowd laughing and participating.

Pool Description / Comments:

Didn't have time to use the pools, but Ol' Man Island Pool was nice. Towels were there for guest's use.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Look at map and read reviews on Mouse Planet and decide which location will work for you. Make your request known! This resort is SPREAD OUT! Bldg. 14 is close to everything, but if you want seclusion, you may be happier with an outlying area. AB corner rooms are definitely better than inside rooms. $9 seems like a lot for a mug, but you'll save money in the end--get the mugs for sodas, coffee, hot choc., etc.

Other Comments:

This is a beautiful resort. Our visit was a short one, but we still enjoyed Port Orleans. Would like to go back soon!
