Accommodations Review:

The room was about what I expected. Nothing fancy, but I have no complaints. We did call maintenance when we first arrived to fix the toilet. They arrived quickly and everything was fine from then on.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

The theme of the resort was appealing to us, and I had heard a lot of good things about it.

Room # and Location Description:

My room request, which I called in about 3 days before our stay, was granted. We were in room 8524 in the Magnolia Terrace bldg in the Magnolia Bend section.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

This room location was ideal. We were close to the parking lot, the private pool, and the laundry, and the bus stop was only a couple of minutes away. The walk to the food court via Ol' Man Island wasn't bad either. Brian's review of POR lists the Magnolia Terrace building as one of the better locations, and I have to agree.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check in Friday went very smoothly. Less than a 5 minute wait and the cast member was very helpful. Since my birthday was the 31st, and my daughter was excited that I was having my birthday party with Mickey, I requested something special to mark the occasion. We received 2 cards, one from Minnie wishing me a happy birthday, and one from Cinderella wishing my daughter a wonderful trip. Those little things are part of what makes up the Disney "Magic".

WDW Transportation Comments:

We rarely waited for a bus for more than 5 minutes.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

The food court was pretty good as far as food courts go. We ate at Boatwright's Dining Hall one evening. We each had the prime rib, and the food was very good. Our server wasn't quite with it, but he was adequate. I would recommend it. We also went to the lounge/piano bar one night. This is a place not to be missed. The entertainer got everyone involved and everyone seemed to be having a great time. There were plenty of children around for the first show and they were having a ball. The second show was a little more adult oriented, but nothing that was inappropriate. There is also a limited menu to order from. We had a hamburger and it was great. A lot better than what you will get at the food court. Regardless of where I stay on my next trip to WDW, I will try my best to make it back to the piano bar.

Pool Description / Comments:

We only tried the pool one time due to the cool weather, but it was too cold for my little girl. The main pool was the coldest, and we did see a lot of the kids going from the main pool to the hot tub and back to the main pool.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Take time to wander around and enjoy the resort. There is plenty to see and lots of wildlife all around.
