Accommodations Review:

We loved the atmosphere of this resort. It was absolutely beautiful. Don't pay for water view! There were no standard view rooms available so we had to take it for $10 more. We stayed in Alligator Bayou the first night with a view of the swimming pool. It was very noisy. The other three nights we were in Magnolia Terrace. If you stepped outside of the room, took a couple of steps to the left, stood on your toes and peered through the trees you might be able to see the river.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

I wanted to try another resort. The Florida resident rate was good. We have previously stayed at Caribbean Beach and All-Star Sports.

Room # and Location Description:

The love the theme of the Alligator Bayou room. It had a rustic feel to it. The furniture looked like it was made of logs. We moved to Magnolia Terrace for the other three nights because I preferred the Southern Mansion buildings. The room was nicely decorated, but I liked the theme of the Alligator Bayou room better. (Sorry, I don't remember either room number.)

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Our room in AB was close to the parking lot, but too close to the pool. The MT room was in a perfect location. It was just a short walk over the bridge to the pool and over another bridge to the lobby. The pathways were beautifully landscaped which made for a pleasant walk. It was about a 3 minute walk to the bus stop.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

We arrived at about 10:00 p.m. Check in wait was about 20 minutes. When we asked our CM to add a night to our stay she entered the wrong code, and increased our total by $400. She didn't notice until I pointed it out. We waited another 15 minutes while she went into the back to sort it out. Check out was automatic and we did not have to go back to the lobby.

WDW Transportation Comments:

We drove our own vehicle most times since you don't have to pay for parking. We did take the bus a few times without any trouble. One of our bus drivers even led a sing-along.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We ate dinner at the Cotton Mill Co-op one night. It was nothing spectacular. We did get a kid's meal for our 2 year old that had a PBJ sandwich, chips, raisins, and a Mickey straw for about $4.00. She only ate half so we took it along to the park the next day for lunch.

Pool Description / Comments:

We LOVED the waterslide at the Ol' Man Island pool. It was lots of fun. The pool is huge. There is also a wading pool for toddlers.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Look at the map and request a room near your preferred locations. The staff are usually very accommodating.

Other Comments:

We will definitely stay here again. If you are a Florida resident, always check the Disney World website for special resort rates.
