Accommodations Review:

We started out in the Alligator Bayou section and our room was
very gloomy and the 'rustic' furniture was uncomfortable. We switched
to Magnolia Bend (because of pool noise) and found it much more
pleasant, even though the room was the same size. For this much
money, though, you should get more than one bar of soap and not
have to ask for a coffeemaker, etc. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
We used to stay in a trailer in Fort Wilderness (which we loved)
but it had gotten too expensive. Last trip we stayed at the Caribbean
Beach and liked it, and chose DL because it was the same price
but different themeing. |
Room # and Location Description:
|
? Building 17 in Alligator Bayou and then Building 12? in Magnolia
Bend |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
Our big problem was that the so-called 'quiet' pools are open
24 hours and they are NOT quiet! Our first room was near (not
adjacent) to one of these small pools, and one night we couldn't
get to sleep until after 1:00 a.m. and 3 calls to management.
Be forewarned! |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Slow check-in, but pleasant and helpful. Check-out was automatic
and accurate. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
A bit of a walk to the buses, but we had no trouble making connections
and all the drivers were very personable. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
We ate at the food court occasionally and it was slow and rather
messy. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
See above. All the pools were nice, but having them open 24
hours/day seems dangerous as well as annoying. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering
This Resort?
|
Stay in the Magnolia Bend section away from a pool. Bring breakfast
supplies with you to avoid the food court. |
Other Comments:

This was our only negative experience with a Disney resort,
and I don't know if it is DL or rather that Disney has gotten
cheaper all over (fewer employees, less training, etc.) Our children
and parents had asked for a simple card for my husband's and my
25th anniversary, and even after numerous phone calls and desk
visits, nothing was accomplished. Also, we got absolutely no help
or apologies for having to switch rooms because of uncontrollable
noise; in fact, we had to spend quite a bit in tips and a day
of time to move ourselves. |
