Accommodations Review:
|
This was our 3rd stay at the Poly and by far the best! We went first-class
with concierge service and used the Grand Plan package for recreation,
meals, shows, passes, etc. We were at WDW with our kids and grandkids.
The Concierge /Grand Plan Office had our room ready at 8 AM when we
checked in. The rooms were clean and "aloha/welcome back" gifts for
everyone. Rooms had 2 queen beds and day bed. Furnished with refrigerator,
safe, iron board, hair dryer, robes, etc. The housekeeping staff was
excellent and came in for nightly turn-down service. Often they left
new toiletries and towels in the evening as well as in the morning. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
Such a relaxing place to be at WDW with the beautiful beaches, hammocks,
pools, etc. The Concierge Lounge has excellent food and service. The
cast members here are the greatest! |
Room # and Location Description:
|
Room 3519. Third floor of the Hawaii longhouse with a lagoon view.
Excellent for watching the MK fireworks and electrical parade each
night. Great to watch the early-morning fishing trips, too. The beaches
are relaxing to look at, too. |
Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
The 3rd floor rooms had balconies. Loved that!! It was not a "non-smoking"
room but the housekeeping staff "de-smoked" it before we checked in.
Excellent location on the monorail. No transportation problems and
easy to get in the "front car" of the monorail. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Easiest check in ever. We checked in by 8 AM (pre-arranged w/the
Concierge Office) and even had breakfast in the concierge lounge before
checking in. We checked our "account" 2-3 times during the week and
had no problems at checkout. Actually hated to leave. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
Wonderful transportation from Poly cuz it's on the monorail -- or
as my youngest grandson knows, 2 stops to MK! Loved the boat transportation
to/from MK as well. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
We used room service for breakfast almost every day. Great menu
and service. And the Kona Kafe has desserts "to die for!!" -- not
to mention the huge Asian noodle soup. Also, can't beat the Poly Luau
or 'Ohana family show. Good lounges, too -- one inside and one at
the pool. Never got around to using the coffee shop, though. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
The pool had just been renovated and was fun to watch all the kids
go down the slide. Not for me, though! I enjoyed watching the smoke
from the "volcano" at the pool -- and the pool bar, of course. The
pool is not deep so is excellent for kids/grandkids. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
This is a great place for families! Lots of lawn space and beach
front. Easy to get around and has EVERYTHING here: places to shop,
get film developed, fast-food, arcade, child care, etc. Does not have
a hot tub, though -- but it's not far from the Grand Floridian Health
Club/Spa. |
Other Comments:
|
Definitely try the concierge service. The cast members there are
so helpful. And, if you can go on the Grand Plan, it's even better
because you have pre-paid for everything so all you have to do is
HAVE FUN. What a magical vacation it becomes! |
