Accommodations Review:

We stayed in a garden view concierge room and loved it! The Polynesian is a beautiful resort with wonderful plants throughout. Having the monorail nearby, in both the Ceremonial House and the TTC, was a benefit and we often walked to the TTC to catch buses or use the ferryboat for variety. All of the food establishments in the Polynesian were wonderful.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

Great location for getting around, but also quiet and relaxing.

Room # and Location Description:

Our room was on the third floor of Hawaii, garden view, the closest room to the elevators & concierge lounge (on the second floor). We had a view of the new pool construction and the quiet pool from the balcony.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Great! We were traveling with a wheelchair so being next to the elevators was nice and it was really convenient to the lounge to run down and get snacks.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check-in was easy; we just had the car parked by the valet and then a cast member came in a golf cart (pargo!) to take us to the concierge building and check in.

WDW Transportation Comments:

Everything ran very smoothly. We once had to wait in order to get a bus that could accommodate a wheelchair, but other than that we rarely waited more than 5 minutes for anything. Using transportation that took us to the TTC and then walking saved a lot of time over waiting for buses that would went directly to the Polynesian.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We ate at all of the restaurants here and enjoyed them all. Kona Cafe is great for breakfast and lunch, and is rarely crowded. The Luau dinner show is a fun way to start or finish a stay at the Polynesian and Ohana's is a festive dinner! Captain Cook's is open 24 hours so it is convenient for stopping after a day at the parks.

Pool Description / Comments:

Even though the quiet pool was the only pool open while we were there, it was rarely crowded. In past stays at the Polynesian, when the main pool was open, the quiet pool was often empty in the middle of the afternoon. The new pool will be amazing based on the pictures that we saw.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Consider where you want to be - some rooms would be inconvenient for running into Captain Cook's for drink refills regularly. But if you plan on making lots of use of the Disney Transportation, then a room in a building closer to the TTC would be best.
