Accommodations Review:

Our room in Fiji faced the main building and temporary marina. Location was great and the room was ok. Noise from the construction was horrible, 8-5 each day. They switched our room to Tahiti. Our Tahiti room had a "garden" view. The bathroom walls and door frame were covered with black mold. The room itself smelled incredibly musty. Apparently everyone had mistaken the humidity controller for the thermostat and had it set on 70%!!! We were on a non-smoking but many people hung out in front of the building or on their balcony smoking. We couldn't have our patio door open without the room filling with smoke. Neither room had the separate toilet and sink area. It was just a bathroom with everything in the same room, tough when more than 1 person wants to get ready.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

Monorail, Disney descriptions

Room # and Location Description:

Fiji and Tahiti

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Fiji, perfect location if not for the construction. Tahiti too far from the main building to make refillable mugs worth it unless you're willing to walk quite a distance just for a coke or coffee. We opted for the pop machine instead. TTC was a little closer than the main building but not a lot by the time you actually get to the transportation.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

We had the worst CM at check in, very unfriendly and bad attitude. Check out was ok.

WDW Transportation Comments:

Monorail is great, buses were our slowest experience yet at WDW.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

'Ohanas is fabulous! Very fun for the kids and food is great. Kona cafe has great breakfast food. Not near the ambience at night as 'Ohanas though.

Pool Description / Comments:

Main pool construction going on. Quiet pool is just a plain pool.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

The areas around the main building are very noisy during pool construction. Request to be away from that if you plan to spend any time in your room at all, a baby may not be able to nap through the jackhammers. If you have allergies and you end up with a musty /moldy room in Tahiti apparently not all the rooms over there have humidity controllers so they don't have that problem.

Other Comments:

Over all we thought themeing was lacking at the Polynesian. The grounds were nice but you can see pretty foliage many places. The rooms weren't anything spectacular, the themeing could have been carried out better here too.
