Accommodations Review:

We stayed in a studio. It was a beautiful set-up with the the fridge and microwave. The sleeper sofa was excellent for saving room for the boys (a 3 year old and 11 months) to play during the day. The rooms was decorated beautifully. The entire resort is gorgeous.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We have always wanted to stay at the WL and by utilizing our DVC membership got our wish.

Room # and Location Description:

We were in room 2509 which was a non-smoking studio room. It was very quiet in this resort. Our balcony overlooked the quiet pool and also had a view of the water and woods. It was set back from the pool in a way that you probably would not hear noise coming from the pool area during a busier time. We did watch the water parade from our balcony a couple of times during our stay.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

There were not any negatives associated with this room. We were just around the corner from the elevators. We were a couple of doors down from the ice machine. And staying in a studio, we used the complimentary laundry services that are located on the first floor, practically under this room. And trust me, with 2 little ones this was a great feature.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

My older son and I went over early on Sunday morning (8:00 a.m.) on the way to the MK to do early check-in. We stayed at DXL on Fri. and Sat. nights and got a late check-out of 1:00 p.m. from DXL on Sun. which worked out great. Our room was not ready at 8:00 am (did not expect it to be) but we were given the number to call later in the day along with our room keys, etc. We ate lunch at the Whispering Canyon at around 1:00 pm after checking out of DXL and after our meal around 1:45 pm called and was given our room location which was ready. Very convenient. We did express check-out and did not appear to have been charged for our 1-800 calls.

WDW Transportation Comments:

We drove our Honda minivan down so we only used the boat a couple of times to the MK. And at different times due to the kids naps, one of us caught the bus back from MGM a couple of times. We never used the buses in the morning so I am not sure how the resort sharing of buses would work. My oldest son and I rode the bus back from Fantasmic and got on the first bus and of course WL is the first stop so this was fine.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

Our only meal at the resort was at the Whispering Canyon on the day of our check-in and was decent as usual. The 3 year old got to ride the Pony Express and loved it.

Pool Description / Comments:

The only odd thing about the quiet pool was that on a couple days the pool did not seem to be heating properly so we used the main resort pool. Again our room was a short walk to the quiet pool. There were a couple of mooching ducks that some folks were feeding and the ducks made a nuisance of themselves. A couple of days the little critters actually got in the pool to swim which could pose a possible health hazard. The odd thing was it appeared to be the same ducks each day. We swam 5 days of our stay.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

You will not be disappointed. It is a more than worthy companion to the WL.

Other Comments:

We are hoping to stay here again in late October of this year, utilizing our APs one more time. Here's hoping we can get in using our points.
