Accommodations Review:

This was by far the best Disney resort at which we have stayed. Beautiful resort--worth seeing if you are not staying there. Beautiful setting, great decor, good restaurants, great pool area and water sports. Rooms are nice; but they were not as large as I had expected. Still, for 3 of us--the room was nice. 2 queen size beds.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We had wanted to stay in one of the more upscale Disney resorts for this trip and my wife's mother and stepfather had stayed at Wilderness Lodge and highly recommended it.

Room # and Location Description:

Room #5031. Corner room with balcony looking out over the pool area. Near the elevators for easy access. Very Nice!!

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Pros: Easy access to elevators, great view of the pool area and lake. Quiet!! Cons: We did have to walk a bit to get to the room. You had to walk down past the snack bar to get to the elevators which go up to the room. A little out-of-the-way; but not bad. Pros definitely outweigh the Cons!!

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Staff at check-in were great. Since we had booked a "woods" view room, we had been told to ask for a room on the 5th or 6th floor so that we could possibly see the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We were upgraded to a "pool view" room on the 5th floor--no fireworks; but no complaints from us. It was a great balcony view. Bellcap staff were very accommodating and helpful during check-in and check-out. Checkout was handled through Express Checkout due to our using American Express. Very quick and no problems.

WDW Transportation Comments:

This is one slight downside to this resort. The boats to Magic Kingdom were fine; but we did find ourselves waiting a lot for the buses to the other resorts. We also had to stop at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian as we went to most parks. The good news--we were always the first stop on the way back.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We had nice dining experiences at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and the Roaring Fork Snack Bar was very handy (especially the refillable mugs for soda and coffee). We did not eat at Artist Point.

Pool Description / Comments:

Very Nice and scenic. Large pool, nice (but small) waterslide and nice spas.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Definitely stay at Wilderness Lodge. As beautiful as it was in May; I can only imagine what it must be like during the Christmas holidays. If your budget allows, get a room with a pool (inner courtyard) view. Very Nice!! We highly recommend this resort!!

Other Comments:

As with most Disney resorts, they provide free vouchers for taxi service to Disney golf courses. The staff were very accommodating.
