Fabulous room. We were on the concierge level (5th floor) overlooking
Stormalong Bay. We had a great view of the Epcot fireworks from our
balcony and could also see across to the Boardwalk. It was perfect. |
Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?
|
We always stay at the Yacht Club because of the location and the
pool. Nearness to Boardwalk, Epcot, Swan and Dolphin means there are
numerous very nice dining options available within walking distance.
In addition, location means 2 of the 4 parks can be reached without
having to get on a Disney bus (you can walk to Epcot and the boat
to MGM is much more reliable than the buses). The pool is the best
at any resort at WDW (see more on this below). |
Room # and Location Description:

Room Location Pros & Cons:
|
It costs more to be on the lagoon side (at peak rates when we were
there, about $50/night), but I love being able to go out on the balcony
and being able to take in everything that is right outside (Epcot,
Boardwalk, pool, etc.). In that way, even when in your room, all of
the Disney magic is still all right around you. |
Check-In / Check-Out Comments:
|
Check in/out was fabulous. As stated in another Yacht Club review
I did, we always stay on the Concierge level. While very expensive,
it makes the whole stay that much more special. There is a special
check-in that takes only moments and immediately immerses you into
the Disney experience. In fact, the overall level of service is top
notch on the concierge level, the people are extremely friendly and
helpful, and they are of great assistance with any last minute reservations
or other special needs. Any one who can afford it should definitely
stay at the concierge level at a WDW resort at some point, just to
see how much they pamper you. |
WDW Transportation Comments:
|
Bus service was poor - we got to the bus stop early (7:30) on a
Monday to make it to the 8:00 early opening at Magic Kingdom. Then,
no bus came for almost a 1/2 hour, by which time there was a huge
crowd of unhappy people. Bus to Animal Kingdom from this resort always
takes too long (too many stops between resort and park), so we don't
even take it anymore and just drive ourselves. The boats to MGM run
very regularly and are much better than the buses. |
Restaurant / Lounge Review:
|
Did not spend much time at any resort restaurant or lounge on this
trip, but I have always enjoyed the Yachtsman Steakhouse and the Crews
Cup lounge very much. |
Pool Description / Comments:
|
Pool is fantastic. My 18 month old loves the shallow part with the
fake sand, while my 7 year old can play all over the rest of the pool.
There is so much to do in this pool, even after several visits, we
have not explored it all. |
What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This
Resort?
|
Try to stay on the pool side of the hotel (for the various reasons
stated above). If you do stay here, make sure to go to the Boardwalk
once or twice for lunch as it is one of the few places at WDW that
is not crowded. It is nice to go to one of the restaurants there at
lunchtime and really be able to sit and relax because there are so
few people around. |
Other Comments:
|
If you are going to stay at a deluxe resort, this is the one to
stay at. Its location, the pool, the other amenities truly make this
a wonderful resort which is right in the middle of the Disney magic,
even when you are not in the parks themselves. |
