Accommodations Review:

We stayed in the Yacht Club Resort's Captains Deck Suite. This suite is the largest suite at the resort. It is 2,374 square feet in size, and it contains two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a dining room, a kitchen area, a sitting area, an office area, and a living room. The suite was beautifully decorated and maintained.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We needed a two-bedroom suite because my sister and her children were vacationing with us. My family prefers suite accommodations because of the togetherness that it promotes.

Room # and Location Description:

Room number 1116 was located on the first floor of the Yacht Club, on the backside. This suite actually took up the entire end of the wing that it was located in, which made this suite five resort rooms wide.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

It would have been wonderful to have had a water view, but with the suite located on the backside of the resort, it had its own private patio area that was accessible only by guests of our suite. This patio area was beautifully landscaped and was quite large at 740 square feet.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check-in was via the Front Desk, and it went smoothly. The Resort Manager On Duty stopped by while we were checking in and he welcomed us to the Yacht Club, which was a lovely gesture. However, once check-in was completed, we had to find our own way to our room. No one offered to show us where it was located, which I found strange considering we were concierge guests. I felt the Yacht Club lacked in this respect. For check-out, we used Disney’s express check-out, which is always great.

WDW Transportation Comments:

We only hung out at Epcot and Disney Studios, so we either walked or took the Friendship Boats everywhere we traveled. Our boat waits were no longer than 15 minutes, and sometimes a boat was waiting for us at the dock when we walked up to it.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We dined at the pool area's Hurricane Hanna's Grill. We had a birthday party at the Yacht Club Galley. Both places were very nice, especially the Cast Members. We primarily ate our meals in Epcot, Disney Studios, or at the Boardwalk.

Pool Description / Comments:

Stormalong Bay is an incredible swimming pool complex. We had the best time there, both the adults and the children.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

If you're going to spend a lot of time in Epcot or Disney Studios, the Yacht Club is an excellent resort choice.

Other Comments:

I have photos of the Captains Deck Suite located in my on-line photo album.
