Shopping in Disney's Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom has several interesting shops. Of course, nature and wildlife will take center stage for most of them.  Some specific shops worth a visit:

On Discovery Island (formerly Safari Village)...

  • Island Mercantile (Animal Kingdom themed merchandise, stuffed toys)

  • Disney Outfitters (adult apparel, jewelry, watches)

  • Beastly Bazaar (miscellaneous merchandise and a lot of T-shirts)

  • Creature Comforts (clothing and toys for the younger set)

In Africa (Harambe)...

  • Mombasa Marketplace / Ziwani Traders (safari- and African -themed merchandise)

In Dinoland USA...

  • Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures (weird dinosaur items)

In Rafiki's Planet Watch (formerly Conservation Station)

  • There is a small shop that peddles conservation-related and themed products just outside of the "affection section" area.

Whatever you do, take some time and visit these shops. Like the other Disney theme parks, Animal Kingdom will have goods that are themed to the park -- and to the specific area where the store is located. You're certain to find many unique and interesting items...even if you choose to not buy any.

Resort Delivery

Don't forget, if you're staying at a Disney resort, you can have packages delivered to the front desk of your hotel. Take advantage of the service. It's definitely worth while.

Package Pick-Up at the Park

You can also have your package delivered to the front of the park, where you can pick it up later in the day (on the way back to your resort, perhaps).   In Animal Kingdom, packages are delivered to 'Garden Gate Gifts,' located to the left just before you exit the park (it's also the location where wheelchair and stroller rentals are handled).
