Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is held on several nights during
late November and early December each year. During the party, the
Magic Kingdom is transformed into a holiday wonderland with special decorations,
snow on Main Street (it's artificial, but looks amazingly real), a special
fireworks show, and -- the party highlight -- Mickey's Very Merry Christmas
Parade (the only time the parade is run). Special stage shows and
entertainment are available throughout the park. Of course, most
of the parks most popular attractions are running during the party, too.
Advanced sales ticket prices for the 2002 event are $33.95 for
adults and $23.95 for children ages 3-9 (not including Tax). Tickets
purchased on the day of the event, if they're still available, climb to
$38.95 and $28.95 respectively.
The 2002 dates are: December 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th,
13th, 15th, 17th, 19th and 20th!! On these dates, the park
closes early (at 5:00pm) and reopens for the party from 7:00pm to Midnight.
Even if you're at the Magic Kingdom earlier in the day and have a ticket
for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, you'll have to exit the park
and re-enter later.
Walt Disney World historically has limited the number of tickets that
are available for such events. That means that the party may sell
out in advance, so don't delay in purchasing tickets. Exactly what
the crowd conditions will be for any such event will vary (it seems to
have been much busier in 2000 than in previous years) but in general you
can expect fewer crowds than during the daytime hours in the park.
