Sunset Boulevard Photo Tour
-- Sunset Beverly Shops --
Photos by Brian Bennett and Ian Parkinson
Here is a photo tour from my most recent
visit to the Disney - MGM Studios. I've tossed in some pictures
by fellow MousePlaneteer Ian Parkinson to round things out a bit.

Right next to the entrance to the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
courtyard, and across from the Carthay Circle Theatre, is the Sunset Ranch
Market. Based on the Hollywood Farmer's Market, the Sunset Ranch
Market is a nice place to grab a light bite for lunch or a snack.
There are actually several different places to choose from
as far as food options go. Rosie's All American Cafe sells burgers
and fries. Catalina Eddie's has pizza and salads. Anaheim Produce
has fruits and vegetables and Toluca Legs Turkey Company sells smoked
turkey legs, hot dogs, and other items. Hollywood Scoops has hand
dipped ice cream cones to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Right next to the Ranch, there is another row of shops collectively
called "the Sunset Beverly Shops."
The anti-heroes, the villains of Disney's films, are celebrated
here (just why, I don't quite understand... but hey, I always root for
the guy in the white hat). Villains in Vogue has villain- and Fantasia-
themed merchandise, candy, clothing, and so on.
Here are a couple of views inside the shop. The first
shows the general villain character merchandise. You can see the
slouching Siamese cats Si and Am ("we are Siamese if you please...
we are Siamese if you don't please") from Lady and the Tramp.
The candy that is available is very similar to the stuff
you can buy in the candy shop on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. The
snake on the display to the right is Jafar's alter ego from Aladdin.
