Itinerary:

This is a supervised activity in which the
children will decorate their own apron and chef's hat.
Then, after a story time, they do some supervised cooking
then enjoy the snacks.
What they actually make can change from day to day,
but deserts (such as cookies, worms in dirt, and strawberry
shortcake) and snacks are typical.
After the kids sample their own creations, they share
the results with any guests that are near the Mouseketeer
club (so, parents, this is your chance to enjoy the
food, too.)

Usually this program runs only through Food
& Wine and is very popular with children, but according
to MousePlanet reader, Norma, the program will be run
though the entire year in 2002.
Children from ages 3-10 make the batter (for Nestlé's
Toll House Cookies, of course) from scratch, pop the
batter onto cookie sheets, then bake the cookies.
All of the kids get their own chefs hat to wear as
they make up the cookies and, of course, the kids get
to sample the results of their labor, too.

Pirate Adventure Cruise

This "tour" is a supervised activity.
The children ride in a boat that departs from the Grand
Floridian to various "ports of call" (other
marinas around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake) to search
for pirate treasure!
During the cruise, the children are told "The
Legend of Gasparilla," a real pirate that plied
the waters around Florida a couple of centuries ago.
Gasparilla, legend says, buried untold amounts of treasure
on Florida's coasts.
A snack and lunch (PB&J) is provided, and the kids
get to keep some of the buried treasure that they recover
during the voyage.

This is a themed lunch is served family
style at the table. (Note: You will likely be seated
at tables with other folks unless you have a very large
party.)
"Streetmosphere" characters, including a
floor show of African musical performers and dancers,
provide the entertainment.
Several group games are played as well, pitting one
part of the audience against the other.
The meal itself includes salads, vegetables, and African
dishes as well as fried chicken and macaroni and cheese
for the less adventurous. Brownies, cake, and
pie round out the meal.
