Traveling With Kids - Attraction Age and Height Requirements

Be aware that there are minimum age and height requirements for many of WDW's most exciting attractions.  These requirements have been designed and are enforced by WDW to ensure the safety of all guests.  I highly recommend that you NOT "cheat the rules" on these issues.  If you do, the only one that is likely to be hurt is someone you love.

The requirements are as follows:

Magic Kingdom

• Alien Encounter - minimum height requirement is 44 inches.

• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - minimum height requirement is 40 inches.

• Goofy's Barnstormer - minimum age is 3 years and minimum height requirement is 35 inches.

• Space Mountain - minimum height requirement is 44 inches, children under 7 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

• Splash Mountain - minimum height requirement is 40 inches.

• Tomorrowland Speedway - minimum height requirement is 52 inches to drive, but shorter guests may ride.

Epcot

• Body Wars  - minimum height requirement is 40 inches.

• Maelstrom - Minimum age is 3 years.

• Test Track  - minimum height requirement is 40 inches.

Disney / MGM Studios

• Backlot Tour  - minimum age is 3 years.

• Rock N Roller Coaster  - minimum height requirement is 48 inches.

• Star Tours  - minimum height requirement is 40 inches.

• Twilight Zone Tower of Terror  - minimum height requirement is 40 inches.

Animal Kingdom

• Dinosaur! - minimum height requirement is 40 inches.

• Kali River Rapids - minimum height requirement is 38 inches.

• Primeval Whirl - minimum height requirement is 48 inches.

There's a section in the planning guide (a couple of pages away) that describes how to do a "baby swap" so adults and children that meet the height requirements can ride in shifts (without having to wait in line more than once!) even if part of your group is too young or of insufficient stature to ride.

The "minor" parks also have some attractions with safety restrictions.  They are:

River Country

• Kiddie Cove  - MAXIMUM height requirement is 48 inches.

• White Water Rapids  - smaller children must use tubes with seats.

• Whoop N-Holler Hollow - strong swimmers only.

Typhoon Lagoon

• Castaway Creek  - Adult supervision required.

• Humunga Kowabunga  - minimum height requirement is 48 inches.

• Ketchakiddee Creek  - MAXIMUM height requirement is 48 inches.

• Mayday Falls  - minimum height requirement is 48 inches.

• Shark Reef  - Adult supervision required.

• Typhoon Lagoon  - Adult supervision is required

Blizzard Beach

• Chair Lift  - minimum height requirement is 32 inches.

• Cross Country Creek  - Adult supervision required.

• Downhill Double Dipper  - minimum height requirement is 48 inches.

• Slush Gusher  - minimum height requirement is 48 inches.

• Summit Plummet  - minimum height requirement is 48 inches.

• T-Bar  - MAXIMUM height requirement is 48 inches.

• Tike’s Peak  - MAXIMUM height requirement is 48 inches.

DisneyQuest

• Buzz Lightyear’s AstroBlasters  - minimum height requirement is 51 inches.

• CyberSpace Mountain  - minimum height requirement is 51 inches.

• Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam  - minimum height requirement is 48 inches.
