Electric Water PageantShortly after Walt Disney World first opened, Imagineer Bob Jani noticed the contrast between the bright lights of the Los Angeles area, where most of them lived, and the pitch blackness of Seven Seas Lagoon and the surrounding area. An idea was born...to produce an electric parade of lights on the water as a good night present to the guests leaving the Magic Kingdom (then, WDW's only park). The Electric Water Pageant is still run nightly on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. It consists of several barges with two-dimensional lights in the shape of various aquatic characters all set to music. The Pageant concludes with a tribute to the United States, a huge flag, with patriotic music. The display can be seen at all of the resorts on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. You should check with Guest Services for specific show times. It's interesting to note, that the Electric Water Pageant was the "light bulb" that led to the creation of the original Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland...and eventually to Spectromagic at the Magic Kingdom.
