"All Inclusive" Package
Deals
Disney offers several meal and recreation
packages that can be added to a resort stay. There's more
information on those packages in the Walt Disney World Trip Planning
Guide, so the remarks here will be restricted to meals issues.
The packages that include meals range from the Disney Resort Magic
Plan, which provides only a single character breakfast, to the Disney
Grand Plan, which includes three meals per day at any WDW restaurant
including room service and Victoria & Albert's (including all tax
and gratuities)!
The "Disney Disney Style" and "Food 'n' Fun"
packages that used to included meals and recreation only (in various
combinations) are no longer available, having been phased out in 1998
or there-abouts.
Having experienced the old "Food 'n' Fun" package a
couple of times, I must admit that having your meals fully covered
before you even order is a liberating thing. Keep in mind,
though, that these programs are not really a way to reduce cost, but
they can reduce stress. Quoting from one of my old trip reports:
"I really feel that we would never have ordered as much food
as we did if we hadn't had the coupons, so the "savings"
is somewhat fictitious (kind of like a government budget cut
"saving money"...ha ha ha). The major advantage with [
these plans ] is that you can prepay a fixed amount of money and NOT
WORRY about what you order."
We enjoyed the plan, but we've found that our current method
(having a nicer meal once per day, typically at dinner, with a much
lighter lunch) works better for us. We eat enough -- without
gorging -- and enjoy as many varied restaurants as we want, without
paying more than we really need.

Hewell's MousePlanet articles on the topic!
