Priority Seating / Reservations Comments: |
We were seated immediately upon
presenting our reservation ticket. Since the Luau uses real
reservations instead of a Priority Seating, the earlier you make the
reservations, the better. I called for reservations about six weeks
ahead of time and was thrilled to be seated at a lovely table for
two in the very first row. The seats gave an excellent view of the
floor show. For a shorter wait time, book your show ahead of time
and pay for it at the Guest Services desk at the Great Ceremonial
House before heading to Luau Cove. |
Time of Wait: |
We had no wait to be seated but it does
take about 10 minutes to stroll from the Great Ceremonial House,
where the hotel lobby is found, to Luau Cove. If you do not purchase
your tickets ahead of time, expect to wait as long as 20 minutes to
pay for your party and be seated. |
Food Review: |
The food at the Luau is all you can eat,
and the wonderful way it is prepared makes you want to eat all you
can stand! The menu features some refreshing appetizers and bread,
then a large spread of Roasted Chicken, Barbecued Spare Ribs, Fried
Rice, and Steamed Veggies. The dessert is a Pineapple Cake that is
"prepared" by the chef before your eyes. Be sure to have a
designated driver, because dinner includes unlimited refills of Beer
and Wine, as well as a full selection of soft drinks. |
Service Review: |
Our host at the Luau was very attentive.
He kept our glasses full and made sure that we had enough to eat.
Although the food is placed on the table on a platter, the Host are
very conscious of the guests and come back frequently to make sure
your needs are met. |
Atmosphere Review: |
Luau Cove is a wonderful place to spend
an evening. The flower leis that are given to you as you enter make
wonderful souvenirs of your evening at Luau Cove. Many guests wear
them all evening upon their return to the parks! As you are seated
and begin eating your appetizers, you are serenaded by the live
music of the South Seas being played onstage. If the music doesn't
captivate you, the view of the seven seas lagoon and Cinderella's
Castle will. The show does not begin until after dinner is almost
over so you will not have to divide your attention between the floor
and your food. Audience Participation is a large part of the
atmosphere at the Luau. Be sure to get up onstage if you can. Don't
worry about making a fool of yourself. You've never seen the people
who are watching you before and you'll never see them again! |
Other Comments: |
The Luau recreates the feeling of an
authentic luau by having seating low to the ground. Although you
are not seated directly on the floor, the chairs here have a height
of about one foot. Be sure to wear clothing that won't get damaged
by laying on the floor. Dress for the Luau is very casual as is most
dining at Walt Disney World. Don't fuss to much over dressing up,
just put on your loudest tropical print shirt and get ready to shout
"Aloha!" at the top of your
lungs! |
