Crystal Palace

Brian's Review

The Crystal Palace is modeled after a similar building in Regent's Park in London, that was built for a major exposition in the late 1800's.

The Crystal Palace is the location of very popular Winnie-the-Pooh character meals.   Notice the top picture above.  These meals, in which breakfast, lunch, and dinner is served buffet style, draw big crowds, so plan accordingly.  One reason for the popularity is that meal's at the Palace provide plenty of interaction with Christopher Robin's friends from the 100 acre wood.

One of our favorite meals here has always been the puffed French toast that is served here for breakfast. There are other options, too, but the French toast is not to be believed.

Brian's Review

The Plaza Restaurant is located at the end of Main Street, on the right hand side as you face the Castle. It is a "typical" turn of the century ice cream parlor restaurant. It's decorated in red and white, with marble-topped tables, iron work chairs, mirrors with gold and silver trim, waiters and waitresses in black pants, white shirts, and garters around the upper arm. The menu is mostly sandwiches (the Rueben is delicious) and ice cream deserts. Although plain, the food is very good, and the portions are huge. The Plaza is one of our favorite restaurants in WDW. The reason is simple: Good food, big portions, and good prices.  Barb often goes for the cheddar cheeseburger at the Plaza, while I've partial to the chef's salad -- which is no longer served here.

Tony's

Brian's Review

Tony's is a very nice Italian restaurant.  As the story goes, it was in the alley behind this restaurant that Lady and Tramp had their famous spaghetti dinner (the one where they end up eating the same noodle and kissed when they worked their way to the middle). The first time I ever had fettuccini Alfredo was at Tony's and it was fantastic! We've been back several times since then. Be prepared for slow service...I guess Lady and Tramp didn't mind waiting for their meal. Everything's good, but notoriously slow...

Usually Very Slow
