I ordered the most expensive thing on
the menu, but had a castmembers' discount (my entree came to about
$21). |

Priority Seating / Reservations Comments:
|
Being the 'knowledgeable' castmember
that I was, I made priority seating reservations via WDW phone,
thus saving me and my friends the hassle of carting down to MK
just to make reservations.
We were VERY lucky to get a 6:30 pm reservation calling at 4:30
on a Wednesday night. (any phone on property can connect you
to the restaurants, just ask to use a phone in one of the shops) I
called at about 4pm for 6:30 reservations for that evening. |
Time of Wait:
|
It was the evening dinner rush, and I
did make the reservations rather late in the day so our wait was
reasonable considering the circumstances. (I think it was
about 20 minutes) But my buddies and I did get the chance to have
our pictures with Cinderella on her huge blue throne while we
waited. The Fairy Godmother was also out in the waiting area to
help entertain guests. |
Food Review:
|
I can't remember the name of the item I
ordered, only that it was the most expensive. My fellow castmember
friend was treating me for my birthday so I decided to 'live it
up'.
I ordered a beef and shrimp dish with mashed potatoes. The
portion was considerably small when you remember the price ($23
w/o discount) but it was filling and decadent. The beef was very
tender and savory, and the shrimp (4 or 5 of them) were large and
plump. I would have expected to have to take a dinner box home
with me for the price, but I was able to finish it all (Disney
probably considers this so food is not wasted and guests don't
have to cart around their food after their meal) Also I thought it
was cute how the butter was shaped like Mickey! (I suppose they do
that in all the WDW restaurants, but it was still cute!) |
Service Review:
|
Excellent! Even though my group was all
castmembers, our server still gave us the 'Royal' treatment! Our
waitress attended us well, and when the waiters came in with our
entrees, he bowed low subserviently :) |
Atmosphere Review:
|
Can't be missed! The high vaulted
ceilings of the castle with its banners and decorations made one
feel they were truly dining in a medieval hall (minus the cold
drafts and stone floors). The stained glass windows made for
an awesome view of Cinderella's Carousel. The best part was when
Fantasy in the Sky began while we were still finishing our
dinners! Since the fireworks go off behind the castle, the windows
gave us an excellent view of the display. It would have been a
very romantic Disney moment, had I been with a significant other
;)
Also, the servers' costumes are one of my favorites at WDW. |

As a guest I recommend this place
purely for the experience!
I know not everyone who eats here will have the experience I
had, but it is worth the money just to say you saw the fireworks
from INSIDE the castle!
As a castmember, I recommend this restaurant because you get
your discount. |
