Guest services in our resort (Coronado
Springs) insisted that we have a PS time and said without one that
we may not be allowed entrance to the new resort -- which I found a
bit strange. The biggest problem I had with that procedure was that
in the event we had been unable to get there for breakfast we would
have been charged a $10.00 per person fee. Additionally, when we
arrived at Boma for our PS seating, there were at least 50 available
tables -- so I wondered about the big deal about PS and the no show
fee. |

Food Review: |
The food was wonderful. All meals at Boma, including our breakfast, are served buffet style. Boma has a
different approach to the normal buffet style however. The food
stations are set up in a market style, along an open area in front
of the preview style kitchen. All of the required breakfast foods
were included (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) and there were
a few African specialty foods as well. The African egg custard
(sorry - I forget the name) was an absolute treat, although those
with a dislike for spices may wish to pass or try a small serving.
The African apple stuffed sausage was also a wonderful surprise.
There was also a great selection of pastries. The African " Double A
" coffee was one of the best brews I have ever enjoyed, although not
for the lover of weak coffee. All in all, a wonderful presentation,
mixture and flavorful array of food. |
Service Review: |
The service was some of the best I have
ever received at a WDW restaurant, and I have dined at many WDW
restaurants over our family's 20+ visits. Even though it was buffet
style, our server Lisa greeted us with a smile and was a constant but
not obtrusive presence while keeping our plates cleared and our
coffee and juices filled. She even took the time to chat with us
about the other restaurants at the resort as well as giving us tips
on what else to see at the resort. |
Atmosphere Review: |
The atmosphere was wonderful! Although I
have never been fortunate enough to visit Africa, I have watched
many a TV special from Africa, and found the restaurant to have a
wonderful look and feel of being there. In my opinion, the
Imagineers have outdone themselves with this resort. |
Other Comments: |
Although a bit pricey, I would certainly
recommend Boma for breakfast as the African foods, atmosphere and
service were well worth the expense. Be sure to visit the rest of the
new Animal Kingdom Lodge -- especially the wonderful gift shop and
animal viewing spots -- when your meal is complete. Please feel free
to e-mail me with any questions you may have
