We walked up, and were told we could be
seated immediately. It took a minute to realize that Prime Time had
a half hour wait, but we were HUNGRY and didn't want to wait. |
Time of Wait: |
No wait at all...walked right in. |
Food Review: |
This is a character buffet. There are
normally two buffet lines that serve the same food, however, one
line was more than enough to accommodate the guests there. There was
a small salad bar with quite a few mayo-based salads (potato,
macaroni, etc) and about 10 choices to put on your romaine or mixed
lettuce. Meat choices included turkey, pork roast, marinated flank
steak, salmon, rotisserie chicken and honey baked ham. The side
choices were plentiful-root beer basted sweet potatoes (sounds
weird, but was really good), mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing,
broccoli casserole and many other choices.
The only disappointment
was the kid's choices. The menu outside listed several things for
the kids that weren't available, not that my sons minded, but I was
trying to avoid the mini hot dog/ macaroni and cheese route. There were
about 3 entrees available for kids. I suspect that while attendance
is down, they will stick with this way of operating. The food was
very tasty, and the meats were very moist and flavorful. My husband
and I went back a couple of times each and never had more than two
other people at the buffet with us. There is also a dessert bar, and
the highlight of it for the kids was the make your own sundae, but
for me it was the very good Red Velvet Cake (they got the frosting
right!)

Service Review: |
Excellent service. We are serious liquid
consumers, and we never had an empty drink. She even remembered to
bring extra lemon for my tea, and noticed when I needed more. Very
attentive to the kids. |
Atmosphere Review: |
The characters normally are the draw
here, though the food would bring us back even without the
characters. We ate at 1 p.m. and the restaurant was nearly empty. We
saw all the characters (Chip, Dale, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy) many
times in the hour or so we were there. I'm especially grateful for
the frequent visits, as my 2 year old now does not hesitate to go up
to the characters as a result of the one on one. In fact, he nearly
tackled Minnie at the end, telling Minnie "I love you,
Minnie". |
Other Comments: |
Great variety of food for adults at this
lunch. If you're curious, ask the hosts at the entrance what menu
items are available for the kids if you've got picky
eaters | | | |
