Arrangements were made in advanced by VIP
Tour Guide, Michael Hewell of Michaels VIPs. The PS was for 5, my
Mum, my Twin Nieces, Michael the Tour Guide and myself. |
Time of Wait: |
We were seated immediately and there was
two or three other "cars" being waited on. In fact, there were more
wait staff on-hand then there was filled "cars", which made for some
funny moments. We were split up over three "cars" almost dead-centre
allowing us to see the Screen without straining. |
Food Review: |
Not feeling particularly hungry, I jumped
straight to dessert and had Apple Pie ala mode with a
highly-recommended Cookies and Cream Milkshake. To my dismay, the
Apple Pie was served cold, which I am told is way it is served in
the South. Back home in New Zealand, it would have been served hot
by default and this is what I assumed, so the mistake was with me.
The Twins shared a Burger meal between them. Although they did not
finish that meal, they were very taken with the kids meal menu and
enjoyed coloring and working out the puzzles. My Mum had a Ham &
Cheese Sandwich and Michael had the Chicken Wrap. Overall, the food
was very average however I was not here for the food. I was here to
experience the Sci-fi. There were no complaints from the others so I
was happy that they were happy. |
Service Review: |
Our Waiter, Drew, was very attentive.
With our party split over three "cars", he had his hands full
keeping everyone happy. However, his treatment of the Twins
impressed me. I find that most wait staff ignore the kids (after all
they're not paying the tip) but Drew not only got their attention
but discussed the menu and helped them choose their meal. As the
time got on and the lunchtime crowd started pouring in, we
understandably saw less of him but he still attentive without being
distant. If I had one gripe, it would be how late we got the check however
saying that we were very happy with the service here. |
Atmosphere Review: |
The Drive-in Movie atmosphere is unique
and the "cars" as tables adds to the Drive-in experience. I enjoyed
the B-grade Movies snippets. Its hard to believe anyone took them
seriously back then. Some of the Wait Staff had there own way of
providing a unique experience - some lip-sync the movie, other
screamed or shouted in time with Movies, one even had roller skates on to complete the Drive-in experience. |
Other Comments: |
The Sci-Fi seemed very average to me.
There were no particular standout items to write about, at the same,
there was nothing bad to write about either. The Service was good as
was the food and atmosphere however nothing did it for me. Knowing
there are better restaurants on property, we will probably opt to go
those. In the future, I would like to revisit, just to see if there
is more to the Sci-Fi than what I experienced this time
round. |
