Boardwalk Villas

Built and opened at the same time as the Boardwalk Inn resort, the two are on more equal footing than many of the hotel/Disney Vacation Club joint properties. Sharing the overall theme of a turn-of-the-century ocean boarwalk town, the area is the primary entertainment and dining spot for the Epcot resort area. Though the Villas are a Disney Vacation Club property, the rooms are available for rental by anybody and provide "home away from home" amenities such as in-room kitchens.

  • Internet: Wired in-room ethernet port. $9.95 for 24-hours. Wi-Fi access is available in certain public common areas.
  • Laundry: There is one self-service laundry off the lobby on the first floor. Access is free for DVC members staying on points.
  • Pools and swimming: Boardwalk Villas has its own quiet pool and shares a themed pool with Boardwalk Inn, though it is on the Villas side of the resort. A 200-foot water slide, called Keister Coaster is themed to look like an old-fashioned wooden roller coaster.
  • Gym and Exercise: The Muscles and Bustles Health Club on the Boardwalk Villas side of the resort has free weights as well as standard cardio machines. Use is free for any guest or guests of any Disney Vacation Club resort. The resort also has two tennis courts.

    This area is the best for anyone wanting to go for a run while staying on site. There are many trails and paths available that can be combined to accommodate a range of mileages. Jogging route maps are available from the front desk.

  • Owner's Locker

  • Transportation Information
  • On foot: Several locations are accessible on foot from Boardwalk Villas without having to walk on streets. Other resorts within reach are Yacht Club, Beach Club, Beach Club Villas, and the Swan and Dolphin hotels. Both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios are reachable on foot. The Fantasia Gardens miniature golf course is also within reach, though crossing on street will be necessary.
  • Bus: The bus routes available at Beach Club also stop at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, the water parks and Downtown Disney. All other points can be reached from the theme parks or Downtown Disney.
  • Monorail: Available, but would require walking through Epcot to that platform.
  • Ferries: Yes, the ferry route here connects Epcot, Beach Club/Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn, Swan/Dolphin, and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
 
Dining - Hide Section
    • Other dining — The boardwalk has several small snack carts. Seashore Sweets serves soft-serve and regular ice creams. The dining options at Beach Club resort, Yacht Club resort, as well as Epcot's World Showcase are also easily accessed on foot.
    Entertainment and Shows - Hide Section
    Boardwalk Villas does not offer any unique entertainment options, though all of the opportunities available to Boardwalk Inn guests are also available to Boardwalk Villas guests.

    • Atlantic Dance — A dance hall featuring all types of music from DJs and occasionally live performers. There is a cover charge.
    • Community Hall — On the Boardwalk Villas side of the resort, this is the place for renting bicycles and other play equipment such as ping pong and croquet.
    • IllumiNations — While the nuts-and-bolts of Epcots signature show on World Showcase Lagoon are not visible from Boardwalk Inn, the view from the bridge provides decent viewing of the shows higher fireworks. It is also an easy walk into the park to take in the entire show.
    • Jellyrolls — Dueling pianos at their best in this nighclub. There is a cover charge.
    • Side Show Games — A video arcade near the Luna Park swimming pool.
    • The Yard — A video arcade associated with the ESPN Club restaurant.
    • Other entertainment: Out on the boardwalk throughout the day and evening you'll find a variety of street performers doing their thing. While the resort does not have its own children's activity center, guests can make reservations to drop off their children (4-12) at the Sandcastle Club at the nearby Beach Club Resort.

      We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas March 11-14, 2009. We were in a studio with a standard view. We were very pleased that we had a lovely view! Straight out from our room was one of the canals, to the left was World Showcase and to the right was the Tower of Terror. I absolutely LOVE The BoardWalk! There is such a wonderful nostalgic feeling when walking along the water, looking at the Yacht & Beach Club, enjoying all the shops and outdoor entertainment. Even better than the beauty and fun of the boardwalk is the easy walk to Epcot's World Showcase. My partner and I even walked to Disney's Hollywood Studios a couple of times and a couple of times we took the boats, which is also fun.

      Our room was neat, clean, comfortable and well decorated. My only negative points had to do with the size and layout of the facility. The walk from our car to the building was terrible and then the walk from the lobby to our room was even worse! It was like being on a cruise ship. The hallway kept going and going and going. The design of Saratoga Springs is much better, in that the resort is broken up into multiple buildings allowing short distances from parking lot to building and short walks to the rooms. The one saving grace about our room was that we were at the end of the hallway and could go down the steps and out to door which was half way to Hollywood Studios.

      If you love Epcot, Hollywood Studios and The Disney BoardWalk and if you want easy access to the hustle and bustle of WDW this is your resort! If you want to leave the hustle and bustle and retire to a quiet, peaceful resort after a day in the parks, then you might consider a different Disney resort hotel.

      All in all, The BoardWalk Villas is a wonderful place!

      This hotel was wonderful. The entire area was beautiful and very very clean. The front desk was extremly helpful in all types of questions. The transportation to the many parks was great. We never had to wait long for a bus to come along and Epcot and MGM was in walking distance plus the boat ran from the boardwalk. The many resturants were wonderful and the bakery was to die for. The rooms were spacious and the cleaning crew were prompt in cleaning. it was a beautiful area, very calm and picturesque. We loved sitting on our balconey has the kids went to sleep and watch the boardwalk area. There was always entertainment or just watching the bikes go by was fun.

      I won 6 nights in a DVC during a company picnic. We stayed in the 3 bedroom Grand Villa and it was incredible. The Grand Villa is HUGE - it has a master bedroom, with whirlpool bath and seperate shower/toilet room and two additional bathrooms with private baths. The staff was excellent - Guest Services went out of their way to help us with all sorts of requests. The Boardwalk, Grand Villa suite, staff, restaurants and view spoiled me so much that I am considering become a DVC member. Several nights, we watched the Illuminations fireworks from our balconies! This hotel rocks. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I was so sad when we checked out, I cried!
