Soarin' Over California

Soarin' is one of the parks signature attractions, and also its most innovative. An advancement on the idea of a full-motion simulator, this attraction has riders hanging in seats meant to recreate the experience of hang gliding. Once seated, the ride lifts everybody into the air and moves them forward into a half-dome onto which is projected high-quality film of various scenes from around California. As the camera moves, the seats move in conjunction and scents are introduced with certain scenes to further enhance the immersive experience. The final scene always gets the biggest reaction as you fly over Disneyland, at night, just as the fireworks begin.
